New High Tea Asian Style
Enjoy tea with a difference at the Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai Lobby Lounge
Created in 1840 in England by the Duchess of Bedford, high tea became a necessity at 4.00pm in the afternoon as her house hold would serve the evening meal fashionably late at 8.00pm. Since then, afternoon tea has become a much loved Middle Eastern formal social occasion.
The savories plate includes BBQ Chicken Buns with Sesame, Asian Crab and Slaw, Squid Ink Tiger Rolls, Peking Duck and Foie Gras Truffles as well as Tom Yum Lobster Spring Rolls and Vietnamese Tuna Tartar Cones.
Meanwhile there is an array of sweets for dessert, such as Yuzu and Tonka Bean Macarons, three varieties of scones, (Five Spice and Fruit, Coconut and Traditional Scones) all served with clotted cream, homemade Strawberry and Shiso or Kumquat and Ginger Jam. In addition, Ivory and Matcha Green Tea Éclairs and Chocolate and Raspberry Spheres infused with Shang Palace Signature Tea make this a taste experience not to be missed.
To accompany the set, guests can select from a variety of Oriental tea, specialty coffee and the option of a glass of bubbly.
The Shangri-La Asian inspired High Tea is available daily from 1pm – 6pm only in the Lobby Lounge.
