PCFC participates in Dubai Government Achievements Exhibition

Dubai, UAE, 2nd April 2017: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai visited today the pavilion of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) at Dubai Government Achievements Exhibition (DGAE).  The event, in its 5th Edition, started today 2nd April and will last until 4th April under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, under the theme: “National Governments, Global Achievements”.

His Highness listened to a brief from Sultan bin Sulayem, DP World Group Chairman & CEO and Chairman of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation about the smart initiatives PCFC is participating with this year under the theme (We ensure a sustainable future), in the presence of Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs, Abdullah Al Khaja, Executive Director of Customer Management Division at Dubai Customs, Faisal Eissa Lutfi, CEO of DC World, and Shuaib AlSuwaidi, Intelligence Department Director.

His Highness was also briefed on Dubai Customs World’s participation in the exhibition and its role as a disseminator of Dubai Customs’ practices to the world for a better world economy. This enables national economies to attract more investments without compromising integrity, security and stability as a part of its vision of becoming the biggest reliable customs source in the world.

PCFC will also take part in the other functions accompanying the big event which include (Ask the government leaders) on Tuesday 4th April in which Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs will talk about the Department’s vision and role in developing customs business worldwide.

PCFC will showcase 17 smart projects and innovative products on stand number (B-8), hall number (7) under the theme (We ensure a sustainable future). These include:

 Dubai Customs

Smart pre-clearance: Pre-clearance helps in reducing storage cost and clearing goods before arrival. Declarations are submitted online to Dubai Customs.

Security happiness system: An integrated system with a control room to enhance delivery of clearance services. The system includes:

  • Detailed map: An innovative idea which helps locate control cameras at the airport for an easier and more efficient control.
  • Third eye: Providing inspectors, who operate devices, with information to increase efficiency and reduce cost of training.

Smart workspace: A smart communication channel for easier data entry of declarations; thus minimizing errors of manual entry.

Jawab: An artificial intelligence based service that enables clients of Dubai Customs to communicate with it using social media channels.

Smart watch: This service enables clients to enquire about the status of their transactions at Dubai Customs without the need to go into the website.

Smart drugs encyclopedia: Dubai Customs’ drug encyclopedia includes details of drugs and prohibited narcotics with clear illustrations, images and videos of different types of drugs.

Smart service follow-up board: to help follow up the performance and speed of services as per the client happiness charter. It shows Dubai Customs’ level of commitment of delivery time announced by Dubai Customs.

Dubai Maritime City Authority

Dubai maritime information: interactive data system available online. It helps boost the competitiveness of Dubai maritime industry through the provision of vital statistics and figures.

Smart test: an application that assesses efficiency of clients wishing to apply for a marine vehicle driving license.

Marine weather information: an information interactive portal that provides updated marine weather information to the public through smart phones.

Smart Dubai Maritime City Authority: A smart application that provides information on the Authority’s processes with some interactive features. This includes, for example. Marsai, Dubai Coast Today, self-assessment to get Dubai marine driver license, etc.

“Shaurkom” (Your opinion) initiative: An initiative that engages clients in the decision making process by receiving their views and suggestions through smart interactive channels.

Trakhees- Department of Planning and Development 

Trakhees platform: It serves as a channel between civil engineering department and EHS department to facilitate building licensing service. Clients can apply to this service using the unified online system.

Automatic license renewal: An option for clients to get their trade licenses renewed automatically in one single step. They can collect their new trade licenses online without visiting the service center.

Target 16: This facilitates doing business by enhancing efficiency of services and reducing delivery time.

Laiq (Fit): issuance of medical fitness certificate for clients at JAFZA’s service center in cooperation with Dubai health Authority and JAFZA

Pass: A center that helps in the safety of vehicles carrying recycled materials which helps in reducing traffic in JAFZA and protecting the environment.

Sultan bin Sulayem, DP World Group Chairman & CEO and Chairman of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation expressed his happiness for participating in this important event.

Bin Sulayem reaffirmed that DGAE is a unique strategic platform for the best exchange of expertise, skills and the best government practices.

On his part, Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs said that Dubai Customs has innovated a number of smart programs and services to facilitate customs work and boost the UAE’s sustainable development and its respected world status.

“DGAE is gaining more momentum year over year thanks to the leading role Dubai is assuming worldwide. Many government departments will take part in this year’s edition and share their achievements and projects. This important platform will help enhance the UAE’s renowned position” Musabih added.
