Dubai, May 23, 2017: The Fall Winter 2017-2018 Collection from INGIE Paris was the closing day highlight at Arab Fashion Week 2017. An array of models wearing designs inspired by the union of Arab tradition and Parisian chic glided down the catwalk during the closing day of this leading global festival of fashion and style.
Ingie Chalhoub, Creative Director of INGIE Paris and Chief Creative Officer of Arab Fashion Council, envisaged the collection as an animation of contrasts. Between ample volumes and urban restraint, metallic tones and nature’s textures; generous, romantic silhouettes carry a late 70s sophistication. Undulating capes, floor-length skirts, oversized bows and sleeves in flows of silk crepe add poetry and move freely. The season’s colour palette, sombre yet sensual, features Parisian zinc, bronze, ink, amaranth and crème. Black, in nuances of night, underscores the collection as light emphasizes the material textures across lacquer, mat, satin and Pekin stripes.
In addition to unveiling its Fall Winter Collection 2017, INGIE Paris also installed the SS17 pop-up store in the boutique area for the entire duration of the event, from 16th to 20th May 2017. The boutique was open to international press, influencers, celebrities and client prospects. It entertained buyers, who discovered and appreciated the current and upcoming INGIE Paris collections.
Ingie Chalhoub was recently appointed Chief Creative Officer of Arab Fashion Council, the organising body of the Arab Fashion Week. In her added role, she will augment the council’s mission to promote the Middle East fashion industry on a global scale and identify, nurture and support Arab talent. Last year, she was honoured with the Fashion Award for the Business of Fashion for her contribution to turning Arab Fashion Week into one of the five most important fashion events in the world.

The INGIE Paris Fall Winter 2017-2018 Collection features fabrics that are super fluid, airy and transparent or, warming like an opulent interior in tweed or floral jacquard – used inside out – of gold and tangerine tones. Brilliant flies and dragonflies alight upon looks in embroidered brooches, while oversized pearls – an INGIE Paris signature – sign buttoned sleeves, long layered chain necklaces and the collection’s jewels: crystal clusters cast from real “desert rose” mineral formations in pale yellow and white gold. Footwear in silk and jacquard are equally adorned with pearls, and asymmetrical ruffles.
While New York, London and Milan continue to remain the global fashion capitals for Ready-To-Wear and Paris for Haute Couture, Dubai pioneers Ready-Couture as part of Arab Fashion Council’s exclusive Ready Couture international license. For the first time ever, the Arab Fashion Council will host its first annual Ready-Couture Congress in order to define its regulations which will be made public and used for future reference. The event will be attended by global fashion industry leaders including Honorary President of National Chamber of Italian Fashion, H.E. Cav. Mario Boselli, Chief Executive of British Fashion Council, Caroline Rush CBE, Ingie Chalhoub, Creative Director INGIE Paris and Creative Directors of global fashion houses along with international media experts from Vogue, WWD, L’Officiel and Grazia. One of the leading international fashion trade journals, WWD, will also publish its first ever Middle East edition dedicated to Arab Fashion Week offering extensive regional as well as international coverage.
