UAE Kid features in Cars 3 by Disney Pixar
The boy was among the five shortlisted children who won Babyshop’s Voice over competition that invited children from the country to participate for a chance to lend their voice to the movie’s character
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, June 7th, 2017 – This one’s a first of its kind. Babyshop the one stop omni-channel kids’ brand in the UAE from Landmark Group in association with The Walt Disney Company Middle East announced the winner of the hugely popular Voice over competition that was concluded a few weeks ago in Dubai. This is the first time a child from the UAE has received this chance of a lifetime to feature in a movie.
The winner, who also claims to be a big fan of Lightening McQueen in real life, will be featured through a cameo of a little ‘fan’ car in Disney Pixar’s Movie – Cars 3 releasing on 15th June all across the UAE. Launched ahead of the anticipated movie, the competition provided children an opportunity to be part of the film through this ‘cameo’ voice over and win a chance to take back home a lifetime memory.
Five shortlists were announced from amongst scores of participant children aged six to ten, who were thrilled on the prospect of being a part of one of their favorite Disney movies. These shortlists were then tested at a recording studio for the voice, closest to suit this ‘fan character’ in the movie and seven years Aariz Mohamed Shaik was chosen as the winner.
Hundreds of children participated in a live audition at Oasis Mall in Dubai on Thursday 18th May in front of a jury comprising of representations from Disney, Babyshop and independent judges. Owing to the overwhelming response, the judges shortlisted five instead of four kids for the final recording.
Aariz’s mother Aisha exclaimed: “I am thrilled for my son to be the chosen talent for Babyshop’s Voice over competition for the upcoming Disney Pixar’s Movie – Cars 3. He is a huge fan of Lightening McQueen and playing his ‘fan’ in the movie is indeed a lifetime moment and a mark of recognition that will stay with him forever. I sincerely thank Babyshop for providing such promising platforms to our kids which also aids their confidence levels and overall development.”
While the other kids didn’t win, Babyshop, as a small gesture, presented them with Lightening McQueen merchandise and gift card worth AED 500 to each of the shortlisted participants.
