Middle East Games Con. welcomed more than 80 local, regional and international exhibitors, eSports tournaments, interactive experiences and appearances by top-of-the-league pros and YouTube stars
Abu Dhabi, 26 November 2017: The largest gaming event in the region, Middle East Games Con. came to an end yesterday, after being held for three exciting days from 23 – 25 November 2017 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. The event featured exhibitors from around the globe and gave gamers the opportunity to take a look at new product launches, participate in gaming tournaments and experience new games in their world premieres.
The event was inaugurated by HE Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, in the presence of HE Saif Saeed Ghobash, Director General of the Department. Middle East Games Con is one of the first strategic partnerships between the Department’s events incentive fund, Advantage Events Abu Dhabi, and the private sector. Already home to more than 800 events including the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Grand Prix, the Abu Dhabi Food Festival, Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship and the Abu Dhabi Classics concert season, the tourism body is now incentivising international, regional and local companies to build on this success and further enhance the events programme.

Visitors to the event were treated to the premieres of eight games, with exclusive first plays in the MENA region of Dissidia, Monster Hunter World, Dynasty Warriors 9, Dragon Ball Fighters X, Ni Ni Kuni 2, Attach on Titan 2, Gravel and Ace Combat 7.
Key local, regional and international industry leaders exhibited at the event including Sony Playstation, HP Omen, Alienware and Virgin Megastore. Celebrity appearances included voice actors Chloe Hollings (Overwatch, Widowmaker), and D.C Douglas (Star Trek Enterprise, Resident Evil) as well as YouTube stars Ali A and Vikkstar.
Over the course of the weekend, visitors to Middle East Games Con participated in a diverse array of workshops, hackathon meetings, e-tournaments, interactive experiences and gaming industry-related products and experiences.
