VFS Global volunteers in UAE celebrate the month of giving

The holy month of Ramadan marks a season of togetherness, community, and acts of charity. As a token of appreciation for all their hard work and efforts, more than 3000 labourers from six camps located at the Dulsco Labour Accommodation in Dubai received an Iftar meal from volunteers of VFS Global, the world’s largest outsourcing and technology services specialist for governments and diplomatic missions worldwide.

In an event organised in cooperation with Classics Catering, a company specialising in providing catering services for Retail, Corporate and Large-scale events, over 50 VFS Global employees of various nationalities and cultures along with their families spent 3 hours at the catering warehouse preparing Iftar meal packagesthat included Biryani, Dessert, Dates, Laban and Water. The team later assembled at the Dulsco Labour Camp where themeals were personally handed over to the labourers.

Peter Brun, Chief Communications Officer, responsible for CSR said, “Ramadan is a season of giving. VFS Global has a long history of giving back to the community and we are proud to have partnered with Classics Catering to involve our employees in spreading the generous spirit of Ramadan. Our participation in the Iftar drive is a small gesture to thank those who play an important role in building this beautiful country and keeping it clean.”

VFS Global received tremendous interest for the Iftar drive from employees across Dubai, Sharjah & Abu Dhabi centers. Volunteers had a fun and challenging experience preparing and distributing 3000 packages before thefast-breaking time. The drive nurtured positive, useful discussions among VFS Globalemployees, and the company pledged to continue its participation in initiatives designed to serve others in the community.
