Abu Dhabi, 07 July 2019: Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel and Villas teamed up with the DCT (Department of Culture and Tourism) to celebrate the Arabian musical heritage by hosting the Bait Al Oud exhibition.
The hotel lobby was brimming with mesmerizing musical performances and more, witnessed by a delegation from the DCT, key members from the UAE media, and guests of the hotel. In addition, the group were among the first to experience the integrated Bait Al Oud exhibition that featured historic oud instruments and other musical artefacts that offers a glimpse into the culturally enriched past of the Emirates. Most noteworthy, the exhibition that will take place until 31 July 2019 is in line with the monthly theme of Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi’s initiative, ‘Summer at the Park: A Journey Through Senses’– Sound, and is designed to inspire the sense of hearing.
Encouraging the dissemination of knowledge concerning the history, theory, practice and performance of Arabic music and instruments, Bait Al Oud is dedicated to restoring music as an integral element of the cultural life of Abu Dhabi, fostering creativity and promoting artistic dialogue throughout the emirate and beyond the UAE. The initiative is consistent with Abu Dhabi’s vision of sustainable development and cultural and artistic renaissance, with the aim of preserving the UAE’s musical heritage.
Commenting on the occasion, Doris Hecht, General Manager of Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel and Villas said, “This exhibition will help viewers understand and appreciate the richness and diversity of Arabian music and its history in the UAE.
