Abu Dhabi – United Arab Emirates, 7 September, 2019: The 3rd edition of Emirates Academy of Dermatology, Aesthetics and Laser Conference and Exhibition – Emirates Derma, concluded today in Abu Dhabi after 3 days of highly productive and enriching discussions on a number of important topics related to the field of dermatology. Emirates Derma witnessed the attendance of leading dermatologists, surgeons and top skincare practitioners from the UAE and abroad, who offered their insights on the latest advances taking place in cosmetic dermatology, plastic surgery, facial aesthetics and the evolving field of anti-aging medicine.
On the third and final day, the conference featured discussions on a number of important topics related to dermatology such as ‘Optimizing your dosage of Neuromodulators, New Analyse Measurements and Techniques for up to date Dosage, Persistent, Intermittent and Delayed Swelling (PIDS), Dark Circles Under the Eyes, How Contraction Patterns of Upper Face Muscles Affect Botox Injection Techniques, New Results with Updated Technique and New Fillers, Cannulas or Needle, Biological Components of Platelet Rich Fibrin and Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty. How to Deal with it in order not to Harm? to name a few.
Commenting on her topic, ‘Dar Circles Under the Eyes’ Dr. Victoria Inene, MD, UAE, said, “In the UAE, skincare practitioners have access to advanced cosmetic medicine and patients are generally aware about their skin treatment procedure and the material being used, which is an inherent right of the patient. In the UAE, nonsurgical face lifting is one of the main skin care treatment concerns for patients, which includes the use of fillers in combination with botox and thread.”
Dr. Victoria Inene added, “In medical terminology, the technical name for dark circles around the eyes is called ‘Periorbital hyperchromia’. Although dark circles are generally considered cosmetically unappealing, sometimes they also pose a medical concern. A variety of differing aesthetic treatments are available for non-surgical Periorbital rejuvenation and one procedure or technique alone is usually insufficient. The most popular treatments currently available are fillers with a combination of carboxytherapy, peeling andPRP or mesotherapy.”
On his part, Dr. Maurizio Viel, MD, UAE, commented on the significance of the Emirates Injection Boot Camp and stated, “The 2-day Emirates Injection Boot Camp during Emirates Derma was a great idea as it facilitated an educational environment while at the same time allowed us to view live demonstrations of new techniques, which is certainly the right approach for sharing knowledge and learning. Additionally, highly specialized meetings such as Emirates Derma offer new opportunities to explore the latest advances and techniques that enhances our clinical practice.”
Speaking about his topic ‘Long Duration of Effect for AbobotulinumtoxinA’, Dr. Maurizio Viel, added, “In my case presentation, I explained how Abobotulinumtoxin A lasts longer as compared to other toxins and provided scientific explanations behind its proven test results. As skincare practitioners involved in anti-aging treatments, we believe that a combination of different treatment modalities and energy sources are helpful in stimulating facial skin health and offering a ‘natural look’ while also reducing the downtime for patients.”
While the 2-day Emirates Injection Boot Camp held on the 1st and 2nd day of the event successfully offered visitors, participants and industry professionals a chance to gain additional practical knowledge about skin injectors,a number of live demonstrations and workshops during the event provided practical learning experiences to all attendees. In its 3rd edition, Emirates Derma conference featured 59 scientific sessions on many key trending topics related to skincare, while 44 renowned speakers representing 23 countries shared their insights and experiences on the latest treatment advances and techniques for various skin disorders.
Running parallel to the conference, the exhibition featured the participation of top skincare brands from the UAE and abroad representing skincare and anti-aging, laser supplies, surgical instruments, hair treatment equipment, laboratory services, photographic equipment and imaging services and medical lighting equipment among others.
