15th September, Dubai, United Arab Emirates:Preparing young adults for life’s choices can seem like a daunting task, especially when coupled with varying expectations from everyone in their lives, from teachers, peers and parents.

Differing expectations and performance can be stressful and with changing demands from academic settings it can be even more stressful.

As a mother of two boys, Suzette Layoun understands the social pressures and expectations children face today as do all parents with teenagers and young adults, which prompted her to launch her new company that combines her corporate and executive coaching experience with her specialization in youth development to offer a unique interaction with youth in preparing them for the future.

Layoun has just celebrated today (Sunday)fifteen years of extensive research and great understanding of the local nuances and expat lifeand established the first of its kind company in Dubai“Suzette Layoun” with a clear vision and mission to empower youth, who make up a large chunk of UAE’s population.

The event, which took place at Rove Downtown in Dubai and announced Suzette’s company, was held in line with the UAE vision 2021, which places a great importance to the role of youth and their empowerment in order to enable them to shoulder responsibilities, innovate and contribute to the welfare of the UAE’s community.

Held under the theme “Voice to Choice”, the event discussed remedies centring on the role of youth and addressed various challenges facing them including: identity exploration, shifting family dynamics, social belonging and engagements and preparing youth for life’s choices when it comes to academic and career, which can seem like a daunting task in their lives.

Aside from being well-qualified from receiving her Masters in Human Resources Development and Performance from Leicester University and an Executive Leadership degree from Cornell

University; Suzette is specifically qualified as a Certified International Executive Couch and a Youth Mentor and Leadership Coach by ICF/BCC, an Accredited Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Specialization Diploma and NLP Practitioner by the ABNLP and a Licensed Personality Profilers by MBTI®.

Speaking on the occasion, Suzette Layoun, said: “I am extremely happy that the launch is being held in the UAE following an exciting and successful journey of working in both multinational companies and government entities within the Middle East and North Africa, Spain and Netherlands. I decided to follow my passion and lend a helping hand in supporting youth with academic and social anxiety, organizational planning, negative feelings about self, choicesaround friendships and relationships, formation of healthy personal boundaries and development of increased sense of personal responsibility.”

“My motto for life is that no matter what dreams or obstacles you face, you have the power to change your life and, by doing so, change your perspective into the limitless possibilities that exist out there for you,” Suzette emphasized.

Suzette Layoun Company is established with a unique approach to youth coaching begins with a personal evidence-based assessment to set a youth’s individual goals for self-improvement.

“During the assessment, we identify personal needs and aspirations and bring up any concerns. I apply a very personalized systematic approach to youth coaching. This level of personalization takes us from assessment to goal setting before identifying the right tools and methodologies to help them achieve their potentials,” she explained.

Researches proved that as adults we understand that there is no perfect state in life, there will always be ups and downs, thus the importance to build mental toughness, resilience and grit at an early age develops confidence and forms a strong character.

“Therefore, by working on an individual level, I am able to build a level of trust through a non-judgmental approach. This enables our sessions with youth and teenagers to have a free flow of ideas, suggestions and feedback that can leave a lasting impression in their character development,” she said.

Earlier, highlighting her new approach, Suzette pointed out that her core tactic revolves around listening, advising, informing, challenging and supporting. In my session, I offer youth a personal interaction that cultivates a deepened self-awareness and understanding. They will also learn tangible tools that will assist them in overcoming their challenges, embrace their true selves and achieve their goals.”
