Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan Inaugurates 27th Edition of the Jewellery and Watch Show in Abu Dhabi

26th October, Abu Dhabi:-The 27th Edition of Jewellery and Watch Show (JWS) today was inaugurated by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the UAE Minister of Tolerance. The opening ceremony was attended by VIP personalities, visitors and members from the media.

Sheikh Nahyan took a tour of the different sections of the exhibition and viewed the exclusive and original collections of jewellery and watches spanningcountries across the globe. He also was invited to see the World’s Most Valuable Guitar, better known as the Eden of Coronet which is encrusted with over 11,000 diamonds and is worth 2 million dollars. The extravagant guitar is on display in JWS and is owned by Aaron Shum Jewelry of Hong Kong, parent company of Lifestyle Fine Jewellery.

Mohamad Meheiddine, JWS Event Manager said, “It is such an honour for us to open the doors of JWS in the presence of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the Minister of Tolerance in the UAE, who has always provided us with unconditional support throughout the years.” He also added, “It is amazing that we are now in the 27th edition of the show and with each year we ensure that it is an incomparable experience for all those who visit and engage with exhibitors who bring to JWS pieces that are exceptional and varied.”

JWS this year has over 150 exhibitors, of which several of them are new. It is a unique experience as most of the items on display are rarely found in mainstream retail outlets or shopping malls. JWS gathers under one roof a rich and dynamic blend of designs that are both local, regional and international creating a festival of jewellery and watches for visitors to choose from.

At the show there are brands that can only be found in JWS who have never been seen before in the UAE, including Lubhyati Fine Jewellery, Veschetti, Primus and SunitaNahata. Similarly, there are also exhibitors who have chosen JWS as the launching point for their designs such as Devji, Ferari and Gold Design.

As part of the global dimension of JWS, there is an International Designer Gallery filled with brands from all across the world. There are also certain countries that will be highlighted at the show such as India with Araya Fine Jewellery and Kohinoor Jewellers. From Italy there will beVeschettiGioielli Italia, FerrarifirenzeSrl, Istanbouli Milano and Le Tarsie, while from the region in Lebanon exhibiting will be Azar Gems, Claudia’s International FZE, Hanna Freres and Quadakim SAL-George Hakim. Yoko London is part of the UK wing and from Brazil, the multi-brand group called Bossa.

As part of promoting the local UAE culture and to encourage UAE designers there is an Emirati Designer Gallery filled with brands that stem from the authentic traditions of the country set in contemporary designs that are extremely appealing and creative. Some of the UAE exhibitors are: Arqa Jewellery, Baguette Design, Charms of Arabia, Tanache Jewels and Pearls Gallery.Also as part of supporting UAE jewellery design, JWS will be hosting the Ebda’a Awards that are the brainchild of the most prominent Emirati artist and jewellery designer Azza Al Qubaisi. She believes the awards are a tool to endorse local designers and provide them with professional expertise so that they can improve their craftsmanship and make a name for the UAE which has always aimed to encourage local entrepreneurs and artists. The categories for the Awards are:Pearl Design, Emirati Design, Calligraphy and People of Determination.

The strength of JWS is that it offers extremely diverse lines of jewellery and watches that suit every single occasion and budget. For practical customers they can enjoy the everyday wear collections, brides will find customised pieces, gold lovers can find traditional designs and enthusiasts of diamonds and precious stones will always find an abundance of items on display. Watch collectors will also find plenty of timepieces with a plethora of designs, shapes, stones and straps that match day and eveningwear.

The organisers of JWS have added a fresh and up-to-date twist to the event by introducing digital features, which include the Augmented Reality Feature that allows customers to e-try designs on a computer screen to see whether it is the most suitable design that is aligned with their facial features. Visitors have a large selection that they can digitally sample to enhance their shopping experience and ensure that the designs they have chosen are perfect for them.

One of the latest features of JWS is the innovative Gift Bag thatevery visitor can access to see a variety of vouchers and decide which ones they would like to redeem at the event using their mobile. Visitors can simply swipe through the vouchers and add the ones they would like to their own basket that they can redeem at the event.

As part of the luxurious yet comfortable experience, Laduree, the renowned French culinary restaurant will be available for visitors to enjoy delicious desserts as well as a tailored menu filled with healthy fusion meals while they take a break.
