SEHA and Vocera Collaborate to Provide World-Class Clinical Communication Across Integrated Healthcare Network New Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City is first hospital in SEHA to implement Vocera Platform

SAN JOSE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE/AETOSWire)— Vocera Communications, Inc. (NYSE:VCRA), a recognized leader in clinical communication and workflow solutions, is partnering with Abu Dhabi Health Services Company – SEHA, the largest integrated healthcare network in the United Arab Emirates, to implement the Vocera Platform at the new Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC). The 732-bed SSMC will be the first hospital within SEHA to standardize care team communication with Vocera solutions. There are future plans for SEHA to deploy the Vocera solution across 11 additional hospitals in the region.

Caregivers will use the wearable Vocera Smartbadge and the Vocera smartphone app to communicate hands-free via voice, send and receive secure messages, manage alerts and alarms, and more. The dynamic master directory of the Vocera Platform will enable clinicians to reach colleagues across the network simply by saying a name, role or group. There is no need to remember phone numbers or know who is on call.

The enterprise-grade communication platform will connect more than 1,800 caregivers and 440 physicians across SSMC. The largest hospital in the UAE, SSMC was established as part of the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 to elevate healthcare services in the Emirate. In 2019, SEHA partnered with Mayo Clinic to operate the 300,000-square-meter hospital, which provides specialist care for the most serious and complex conditions.
