Abu Dhabi, UAE (May 20, 2020): The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama finds words of gratitude to the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as a video message reflected his heartfelt thanks and appreciation projecting the strong connection between his country and the United Arab Emirates.
Reminiscing the 20 year old international aid that the founding father of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan has sent during the war, the Albanian Prime Minister recalls how the prompt support left them in complete fascination as it helped hundreds of thousands of war refugees who were crossing the Albanian borders to escape ethnic cleansing. “All of us were fascinated at the time by such a great expression of solidarity towards our brothers and sisters escaping the butchery,” he said in the message.
Repeating the same camaraderie at this time of pandemic, the UAE sent Albania a plane filled with aid carrying tons of medical supplies to assist 7,000 medical professionals and front liners to combat the COVID-19. In the video message, the Prime Minister struggled to put his praises and gratefulness into words, “A few days ago again, the man who many known as MBZ sent a plane with medical aid to help Albania deal with the COVID-19 crisis, something that we did not even asked. I don’t know how words can tell this but I will give it a try that beyond considerable material support of the supply we got, it is the silent intentions and the good care His Highness take of others. I made this message to express my deepest gratitude and I wish him and the people of UAE all the best that God can provide.”
