EMBARK ON A CULINARY JOURNEY THROUGH INDIA AT SHAMIANA, TAJ JUMEIRAH LAKES TOWERS

the renowned and much-loved restaurant, hailing from the iconic Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai, unveils its monthly themed thali set-menus, paying homage to four distinct regions of India. Under the culinary direction of award-winning Executive Chef Sonu Koithara, his brigade of specialty culinarians have brought elaborate dishes to life whilst preserving the past, using authentic ingredients and age-old home-style cooking techniques.

Shamiana diners can now savour the heart and soul of India through each course of the masterfully curated menu, especially poignant during a time where it is not so easy to travel to India to get that ‘taste of home.’ Traversing through the mustard fields of Punjab in September, the states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala from Southern India in October, moving East to experience the regional cuisine of West Bengal in November, and winding up with a re-creation of the Mughal Empire in December.

Available daily for lunch and dinner, this culinary journey is priced at AED 100 for the vegetarian thali and AED 125 for the non-vegetarian thali with the option to upgrade to the house beverage package at an additional AED 150 per person. Via the Let’s Dxb app, guests can avail the thali lunch and the house beverage package, together at AED 250 per person.EMBARK ON A CULINARY JOURNEY THROUGH INDIA

Highlights from the ongoing Taste of Punjab menu include the Shamiana Kebab Platter, Kadai Paneer, Prawn Tikka Masala, Shamiana’s secret-recipe Black Dal and Chicken Tawa Pulao, served alongside freshly baked bread and a decadent Phirnee and Gajar ka Halwa for dessert.

Starting October 1, guests can experience a specially curated thali from South India featuring Travancore and Chettinad cuisine with exotic dishes such as Mutton kulambu (classic lamb preparation from the Chettinadu region), Thalasseri Chicken Biryani and Beetroot and Asparagus Poriyal.

Shamiana embraces a ‘refined ease’ with its relaxed and homely environment, floor to ceiling windows and a cosy outdoor terrace that overlooks the Dubai Marina skyline. The restaurant evokes a distinct sense of ‘Tajness’ with service that is both sincere and warm, reflecting the rich heritage and legacy of the Taj brand. On Fridays and Saturdays, Shamiana is the perfect place to spend quality time with the whole family, with special activities for the children such as dessert decoration and Henna tattoos for the ladies, to fully immerse guests in a memorable and vibrant celebration.

In its commitment to the safety and well-being of all guests and associates, Shamiana strictly adheres to all protocols set forth by the Dubai Government Authorities. Service associates will be wearing masks and guests can feel at ease with socially distanced table arrangements, digital menus, and the provision of hand sanitizers on request.
