Sharjah’s Translation Grant receives 1,014 applications till date

Registrations to apply for the fund will remain open until February 2021 The Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) has announced receiving applications from 1,014 publishers for the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) Translation Grant which annually funds the translation of books by publishers participating in the annual Professional Programme, which runs prior to the start of SIBF in November each year. A rare, vintage Leica II gold camera, made in Germany in 1936, has been used to bring to life the cultural activities of the 39th Sharjah International Book Fair. To document one of the top three book fairs in the world, Jordanian photojournalist Nader Al Dawood relied on his 84-year-old camera that belongs to the first generation of single-lens reflex (SLR) cameras.
