Italy exported over 24 million Euros of products and medical apparels for dentistry last year to the UAE

20% of total exhibitors at this week’s AEEDC will be from Italy

Trade ties between Italy and the UAE remained strong during 2020, which resulted in Italy exporting over 24 million Euros worth of products and medical apparels for dentistry, the 6th  largest international supplier to the Emirates.

Fifty-four Italian companies are exhibiting at AEEDC Dubai 2021, nearly 20 per cent of the total exhibitors. The exhibition is taking place from 29 June to 1 July at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Thirty-five of the Italian companies have been selected by the Italian Trade Agency for its official national pavilion, which is supported by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI).

All 35 businesses at the ITA pavilion are associated with the Italian Dental Industry Association (UNIDI). The Association supports over 100 high-calibre manufactures of equipment and consumables for dentists and dental technicians, www.unidi.it .

His Excellency Nicola Lener, Ambassador of Italy to the UAE, said, “Despite of the pandemic situation last year, our exports to the UAE in dental equipment increased significantly. Coupled with the expected growth of the UAE’s dental market by around 6.62 per cent until 2026[1]. We are here to support the Italian SMEs to bring their technologies and equipment in the UAE market. Amedeo Scarpa, Italian Trade Commissioner said, “We are currently ranked number one supplier of dental equipment to the UAE, with a dominant market share of 34 per cent in 2020. Italy is the 5th  largest supplier of dental hygiene products and exported over 7.5 million Euros worth to the UAE last year, an increase of 11 per cent compared to 2019. In terms of special furniture for medicine, surgery or dentistry, we are the 6th  supplier with over 2.5 million Euros worth of exported products to the Emirates last year.”
