{:en}Port Louis, Mauritius, (AETOSWire): Mauritius has opened its borders to international travellers, both vaccinated and non-vaccinated, from 15 July 2021.
Phase 1 of reopening of the borders for the Indian Ocean Island will run until 30 September 2021 and allows vaccinated guests to stay in one of 14 chosen “resort bubbles”.
Holidaymakers will have access to all facilities of the chosen hotel including the swimming pool and beach. If guests stay for 14 days and have negative PCR tests during their stay, then they may also travel around the island freely for the rest of their stay. However, for shorter stays, they may leave the resort earlier and travel back home.

The decision to reopen Mauritius came following the successful acceleration of the country’s vaccination programme. International tourism represents a large amount of the nation’s GDP and the Mauritian government took the decision in January to include tourism workers and hotel staff as frontline workers to ensure visitors will be welcomed into a safe and secure environment.
Hon. Steven Obeegadoo, Deputy Prime Minister of Mauritius and Minister of Tourism, said: “Mauritius is delighted to be welcoming international visitors into our safe and secure environment on the island. We are in a unique position to be able to allow international visitors, both vaccinated and non-vaccinated, to our resort bubbles and quarantine hotels before allowing guests to experience the island’s attractions.
“The safety and security of Mauritian citizens, residents, and those visiting the island is paramount and we are grateful to those who have cooperated throughout the pandemic to make this possible. The acceleration of our vaccination programme has enabled us to partially reopen our borders and we look forward to fully opening our borders in October.”
Travellers must undergo a PCR test between five and seven days before departure and a negative result is required to enter the island. Vaccinated travellers must also have a PCR test on arrival in Mauritius and on day 7 and 14 of their resort holiday.
Air Mauritius and other airlines will add additional flight capacity leading up to Phase 2 of the full reopening of Mauritius from 1 October 2021.

وستستمر المرحلة الأولى من إعادة فتح الحدود في هذه الجزيرة التي تقع في المحيط الهندي حتى 30 سبتمبر 2021، وستسمح للزوار المُطعّمين ضد “كوفيد-19” بالبقاء في واحدة من المنتجعات الـ14 المختارة والمعزولة.
وسيتمكّن السيّاح من الوصول إلى جميع مرافق الفنادق المختارة، بما فيها بركة السباحة والشاطئ. وفي حال بقي الزوار لمدة 14 يوماً وحصلوا على نتائج سلبية في اختبارات تفاعل البوليميراز المتسلسل (بي سي آر) خلال فترة إقامتهم، فبإمكانهم أيضاً السفر بحرية في جميع أنحاء الجزيرة خلال فترة إقامتهم. وفي حال كانت مدة إقامتهم قصيرة، فيمكنهم مغادرة المنتجع قبل انقضاء تلك المدة للسفر إلى بلدانهم.

وصدر القرار بإعادة فتح موريشيوس أمام الزوار عقب نجاح تسريع وتيرة برنامج التطعيم في البلاد. وتمثل السياحة العالمية جزءاً كبيراً من الناتج المحلي الإجمالي للبلاد. وعليه، قررت حكومة موريشيوس في يناير إدراج العاملين في قطاع السياحة وموظفي الفنادق ضمن قائمة العاملين في الخطوط الأمامية لضمان الترحيب بالزوار في بيئة آمنة وسليمة.
وفي هذا السياق، قال ستيفن أوبيجادو، نائب رئيس الوزراء ووزير السياحة في موريشيوس: “يسّرنا في موريشيوس أن نُرحّب بالزوار من جميع أنحاء العالم في بيئة آمنة وسليمة على الجزيرة. ونتمتّع في موريشيوس بمكانة تُتيح لنا السماح لزوارنا، سواءً كانوا مُطعّمين أو غير مُطعّمين، بالوصول إلى منتجعاتنا المعزولة وفنادق الحجر الصحي لدينا قبل أن يتمكنوا من تجربة الوجهات الجذابة في الجزيرة”.
وأضاف: “نُولي اهتماماً بالغاً بسلامة وأمن مواطني موريشيوس والمقيمين وزوار الجزيرة. ونُعرب عن امتناننا لجميع الذين تعاونوا معنا طوال فترة انتشار الجائحة لتمكين ذلك. وأمكننا بفضل تسريع وتيرة برنامج التطعيم الذي اعتمدناه إعادة فتح حدودنا جزئياً ونتطلع إلى فتحها بالكامل في شهر أكتوبر المُقبل”.
ويجب على المسافرين الخضوع لاختبار فحص “بي سي آر” قبل المغادرة بخمسة إلى سبعة أيام، وإبراز نتيجة سلبية لدخول الجزيرة. وعلى المسافرين المُطعّمين أيضاً إجراء اختبار “بي سي آر” فور وصولهم إلى موريشيوس، وفي اليومين السابع والرابع عشر خلال العطلة التي يمضونها في المنتجع.
وستعزز شركة طيران موريشيوس وشركات الطيران الأخرى طاقتها الاستيعابية تدريجياً للوصول إلى المرحلة الثانية من إعادة فتح حدود موريشيوس بالكامل اعتباراً من الأول من أكتوبر 2021.
