Al Ain, September 16, 2021: The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) as the national flagship institution with an independent pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, introduces the Pavilion Mascot inspired by the theme University of the Future (UoF), a new model of education centered to prepare the next generation by producing job creators to solve unemployment challenges.
A water-like iridescent, Moy is a warm and empathetic who will accompany visitors on their journey inside the pavilion. Moy is named after the Emirati word for water as it draws its purpose from the worth of water in life, to be resourceful, selfless, dynamic and dependable.
A beacon with a valuable role to set up infinite possibilities, Moy is a source of life and ‘The Sustainer’ representing the vision of UAEU through the UoF in supporting continuous growth of life by guiding younger generations to never stop creating opportunities for a better future.
Prof. Ghaleb Alhadrami Albreiki, Acting Vice-Chancellor, emphasized: “The character of Moy is our way to represent the forthcoming vision of UAEU and to introduce the future that the university is working towards to the world. It also reflects the direction of the university to be the university of choice for undergraduate and graduate studies, research, training, and lifelong learning. Moy’s character will present the changes that the university is working on to develop its innovative educational system, and will summarize it for the visitors of the UAEU pavilion through its journey of progress and sustainable development, with a focus on research, studies, and the developing of its academic programs that are compatible with the future labor market. It will also present the establishment of a strong workforce in fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. A workforce that is capable of contributing to the knowledge economy and the fourth industrial revolution”.
Dr. Abdulla Al Khatib, Member of the UAEU Expo 2020 team added: “The word “MOY” which actually means “Wave” in Emirati dialect and in some other dialects “water” mainly the Saudi-closed region. This is the prime reason of why I suggested the name. It blends well with the current trend of brands having short, funny and strange names. Moy also represents both, wave and water, as they are both shapeless, resilient, strong, flexible, and unbreakable. This fits the meaning of the UoF and what we aim for perfectly”.
Moy is charming and sympathetic with a shiny and colorful pearl for its headpiece, a transparent outer shell, big and friendly curious eyes, and a holographic core. Its water-like body is shapeless, flowy, and iridescent, reflecting and merging the colors of its surroundings from the cool hues of water to the warm tones of the sunset desert. The graceful ripples of waves around Moy match water as an ever-moving source of life creating resources for everyone and allowing mankind to thrive even in the harshest conditions. Moy is an epitome of the UoF’s vocation to guide and enable pathfinders to expand, extend, enhance, and sustain life.
UAEU Pavilion’s mascot, Moy, will be welcoming all the visitors to the enticing experience of the pavilion.
{:}{:ar}العين، الإمارات العربية المتحدة، في 16سبتمبر 2021: قدمت جامعة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، والتي تشارك في معرض إكسبو 2020 بدبي عبر جناحٍ خاصٍ بها، الشخصية الكرتونية الممثلة لجناحها والمستوحاة من فكرة “جامعة المستقبل” التي تشير إلى توجهها الجديد في مجال التعليم والذي يتمحور حول إعداد أفراد الجيل الصاعد لدخول سوق العمل كصناع لفرص العمل لا باحثين عنها حلًا لتحدي البطالة.
سترافق شخصية “موي” الزوار أثناء تجولهم في أرجاء جناح جامعة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، وهي شخصية دافئة ومحببة متعددة الألوان تشبه الماء، فكلمة “موي” مأخوذة من اللفظة العامية باللهجة الإماراتية لكلمة “ماء” وترمز إلى أهمية المياه في حياتنا وتدعو للتعامل مع الماء بحرص وذكاء وديناميكية ومسؤولية بعيدًا عن الأنانية.
وتشير هذه الشخصية إلى الإمكانات اللامحدودة في هذه الحياة، فموي هو مصدر للحياة وهو “نبع الحياة” ويرمز إلى رؤية جامعة الإمارات العربية المتحدة المتمثلة بفكرة “جامعة المستقبل” التي تدعم النمو المستمر في الحياة من خلال تربية الجيل الصاعد على الإصرار الدائم على صناعة الفرص الجديدة في سبيل الحصول على مستقبل أفضل.
وأكد الدكتور غالب الحضرمي البريكي –مدير الجامعة بالإنابة- على : ” أن شخصية موي هي وسيلتنا لإبراز رؤية جامعة الإمارات المستقبلية، وتعريف العالم إلى المستقبل الذي تعمل جامعة الإمارات على صناعته، كما تعكس توجهاتها لأن تكون الجامعة المختارة للتعليم الجامعي والدراسات العليا والبحوث والتدريب والتعلم مدى الحياة ، وستقدم شخصية موي التغيرات التي تعمل بها الجامعة من أجل تطوير منظومتها التعليمية المبتكرة، وتلخيصها لزائري جناح الجامعة على مسيرتها نحو التقدم والتطور المستدام، مع التركيز على الأبحاث والدراسات وتطوير برامجها الأكاديمية والتي تتوافق مع سوق العمل المستقبلي وتأسيس قوى عاملة قوية في مجالات العلوم والتكنولوجيا والهندسة والرياضيات وقادرة على المساهمة في الاقتصاد المعرفي والثورة الصناعية الرابعة”.
وأوضح الدكتور عبدالله الخطيب – عضو فريق الجامعة لإكسبو 2020 – : ” إن كلمة موي تأتي من اللغة العربية العامية الإماراتية وتعني “الموج” وفي لهجات أخرى تعني “الماء” كلهجة مناطق السعودية القريبة من الإمارات. كان هذا هو السبب الرئيسي في اقتراحي لهذا الاسم. إن هذا الإسم يتماشى مع الاتجاه الحالي للعلامات التجارية ذات الأسماء القصيرة والمضحكة والغريبة. موي لا يحمل شكلاً محدداً. إنه مرن وقوي وغير قابل للكسر فهو يمثل الموج و الماء وهذا ما تسعى جامعة المستقبل نحوه”.
“موي” شخصية ساحرة ومتعاطفة ترتدي لؤلؤة براقة زاخرة بالألوان على رأسها، وهيكله الخارجي شفاف، عيناه واسعتين فضوليتين محببتين، وهيكله المحوري هولوغرافي. لا يمتلك جسده المحاكي للمياه شكلًا محددًا، هو انسيابي وملون بألوان عديدة، ويعكس الألوان المجاورة له ويمزج بينها ابتداءً من تدرجات ألوان الماء الباردة وحتى تدرجات ألوان الغروب الصحراوي الدافئة. تحاكي التموجات الرشيقة للأمواج حول “موي” الماء بوصفه مصدر دائم الحركة للحياة، فالماء يزود الناس بالمصادر المتعددة متيحًا للبشرية الازدهار حتى في أقسى الظروف. إن “موي” رمز لرسالة جامعة المستقبل المتمثلة بتوجيه المستكشفين وتمكينهم من توسيع دائرة الحياة، وإطالتها، وتعزيز استدامتها.
سيكون “موي” الشخصية الكرتونية الممثلة لجناح جامعة الإمارات العربية المتحدة في انتظار الزوار للترحيب بهم لخوض تجربة مثيرة في أرجاء الجناح.{:}
