The countdown to the UAE’s Golden Jubilee is on – and Late Nights @ Expo will keep the country’s flag flying high

DUBAI, 28 November 2021 – Expo 2020’s popular Late Nights @ Expo will celebrate the UAE’s Commemoration Day and National Day Holiday with a special line-up that pays homage to some of the emirates’ most celebrated musicians, along with homegrown acts and rising international stars.

On 2 December visitors are invited to Jubilee Stage, where Emirati singer, Eida Almenhali AKA Aida al-Menhali, will get the festivities underway with a rousing performance which includes Al Shallat – poetry without musical instruments. No stranger to the festival set, composer and poet Al Menhali, headlined the Mother of the Nation Festival in 2018 at the Abu Dhabi Corniche. Eida Almenhali said: “I am excited to perform my new music live for the very first time in front of an international audience on the Expo 2020 stage!”سهرات إكسبو 2020 الغنائية تحتفل باليوم الوطني للدولة بدءاً من2  ديسمبر

The commemorations continue on 3 December at Expo 2020’s Dubai Millennium Amphitheatre, with vivacious Colombian pop fusion singer-songwriter Fatiniza kicking off proceedings. The Costa Rica-based artist, who has been live streaming performances to the world throughout COVID-19, is currently recording her third studio album. Fantiniza said: “People will dance to my original music. I’m over the moon to meet my band again; they have been supporting me for a long time and I can’t wait to rock the stage with them!”

Then it’s time to get funky with five-piece soulful band Zero Funks. Based in Dubai, the jazz funk band will bring back the jazz greats of generations gone with a set that spans blues through to contemporary funk. Zero Funks’ lead singer, Sara Tarabulsi said: “I’m excited to perform again, to bring people together, feel the energy that surrounds us as performers, and to reconnect with what I do best.”

Trumpet player and composer Barabás Lőrinc, who describes his music as “a soundtrack to my life”, will be performing with both Fatiniza and Zero Funks on the night. Describing Expo 2020 as a “small bite of the world,” the Hungarian artist said: “I can’t wait to see the exhibitions and to be part of this celebration.”

Also on 3 December, Mohammed Al Shehhi will perform a standalone concert on Jubilee Stage. The UAE native, who garnered an impressive fanbase with his songs Hirati and Samti, will keep fans engaged with his confluence of eastern and western sounds and instruments. Mohammed Al Shehhi said: “It is a powerful achievement for any artist to perform on the Expo 2020 Dubai stage.”
