The four-day International Photography Festival will be held at Expo Centre Sharjah
February 10 promises to be a red-letter day for the world of photography as Sharjah gears to stage the fifth edition of Xposure, the globally renowned International Photography Festival. The hugely popular event promises an exciting week for experts as well as amateurs and enthusiasts, as it brings together the best photographers from across the region and around the world, presenting their vision of the events and people who have impacted the world.
Hosted by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB) at Expo Centre Sharjah from February 10 to 13, Xposure 2021 will feature a gamut of activities including photography competitions, exhibitions, expert reviews, trade exhibitions, outdoor exhibitions and professional workshops and lectures by some of the biggest names in the field. It will offer enthusiasts of the art a one-of-a-kind opportunity to learn and imbibe from experts the latest knowledge and techniques and the latest trends in international photography.
The event, which is considered MENA’s leading photography forum and educational platform for both professional and aspiring photographers and media artists, will transform the halls of Expo Centre Sharjah into an artistic space which will not only provide an opportunity for the public to get acquainted with the work of the most prominent photographers in the world, but also offer an inspiring environment to learn and imbibe various photographic skills from the great masters themselves.
The festival will be held in line with the UAE’s stringent precautionary measures against COVID-19. Mandatory measures being followed include sterilisation of the premises, installation of disinfection gates at entry points, and provision of face masks and hand sanitisers, among others.
Speaking about the upcoming edition of Xposure, HE Tariq Saeed Allay, Director of SGMB, said: “After being postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic last year, Xposure is back again, bringing the works of the world’s best photographers to you in keeping with Sharjah’s tradition of striving to make our events and offerings more interesting year after year. Photography enthusiasts will have the unique opportunity to view the world through the eyes of these gifted practitioners of the art who have charted new paths in the domain.”
He added: “Thanks to technology becoming more accessible than ever, photography is now an essential part of most people’s lives, not practised only by a select few on their artistic pursuits. The camera lens opens a window on to the world and, through its images, has the power to transport us to the remotest corners of the globe. We are certain that Xposure 2021 will be rewarding for both photography professionals and the general enthusiast,” he added.
The Xposure International Photography Festival has in a very short time established itself as a premier global event dedicated to celebrating the art of photography and expanding professional frontiers for aspiring professionals in the region. It is widely regarded and respected by top photographers and experts as well as major photography companies around the world for its diversity, technical excellence, professional integrity and, above all, for the attractive prizes and opportunities the platform offers.

الشارقة تحتضن صور العالم ولحظاته الاستثنائية في الدورة الخامسة من “إكسبوجر” 10 فبراير المقبل
طارق علاي: إكسبوجر تذكير بجماليات الحياة وسِعة الكون وتنوع الابداعات فيه
يحتفي مصورو العالم في العاشر من فبراير المقبل بانطلاق الدورة الخامسة من المهرجان الدولي للتصوير “إكسبوجر”، إذ يفتح الحدث الذي ينظمه المكتب الإعلامي لحكومة الشارقة على مدار أربعة أيام في مركز إكسبو الشارقة، نافذة واسعة لرواية حكايات حول أبرز الأحداث التي أثّرت في العالم، ويجسد بالصور قصص شعوب وأماكن وعوالم تبدأ من أعماق المحيطات والبحار مروراً بأقسى الصحاري صعوبة وصولاً إلى النجوم والكواكب، بعدسة أفضل مصوري العالم.
ويّحول الحدث الذي يعتبر الأول من نوعه على مستوى الدولة، ردهات وقاعات “إكسبو الشارقة” إلى فضاء ملهم تلتقي فيه أجواء صالات المعارض الفنية مع مساحات ومحطات الورش والتعلم بمنصات العرض والتسوق، حيث يتيح المهرجان الفرصة أمام الجمهور للتعرف عن قرب على أعمال مصوري العالم، وفي الوقت نفسه تعلم مهارات وفنون التصوير الفوتوغرافي بمدارسه المختلفة على يد متخصصين محترفين، إلى جانب ذلك يمكن جمهوره من الاطلاع على أحدث إصدارات وانتاجات كبرى شركات الكاميرات ومعدات التصوير في العالم.
ويقام المهرجان، الذي يستضيف أعمال مصورين تعرض للمرة الأولى للجمهور، وفقاً لأعلى معايير وشروط السلامة العامة في ظلّ انتشار فايروس كورونا المستجد، حيث سيوفّر لزوّاره مكاناً يلتزم بكافة الإجراءات الاحترازية ويضمن لهم تجربة مثالية للتعرّف على جماليات الفنّ الكامن في الصور الفوتوغرافي.
تنوّع
وتتنوّع المواضيع التي يطرحها المهرجان حيث ستزدان جدران الحدث بطيف واسع من الأعمال التي تسلّط الضوء على قضايا طبيعية وإنسانية ورياضية وفنية، عبر طرح جمالي يسهم في ايقاظ الحسّ الإبداعي في نفوس مختلف أفراد المجتمع ويمنح هواة التصوير فرصة لتوسيع مداركهم وتنويع خبراتهم ومراكمة الجماليات التي تقود نحو انتاج أعمال فوتوغرافية تخلّد اللحظة وتوثقها إلى الأبد.
ويقدّم المهرجان وعلى امتداد أيام فعالياته تنوعاً في فنون التصوير التي تروي وبشكل ملهم الكثير من الحكايات، وتفسّر غاياتها النبيلة، وتترجم الشغف الذي رافق مصوريها بالطبيعة والكائنات والظروف الصعبة التي عايشوها في رحلاتهم حول العالم، كما سيكشف الحدث عن آخر ما توصّلت إليه الشركات العالمية الكبرى المتخصصة في مجال تقنيات التصوير من منتجات، ويفتح المجال أمام الخبراء والهواة للالتقاء وتبادل الخبرات والمعارف.

وحول هذا الإعلان قال سعادة طارق علاي، مدير المكتب الإعلامي لحكومة الشارقة”: من جديد يفتح المهرجان أبوابه أمام زوّاره بعد أن تم تأجيله العام الماضي نظراً للظروف التي فرضها فايروس كورونا المستجد، لنؤكد عبر رسائله وأهدافه على دور الفنّ في التخفيف من وطأة الظروف الصعبة على الجمهور، وأهميته في تحفيز الروح الإيجابية والتذكير بجماليات الحياة وسِعة الكون وتنوع الابداعات فيه، لهذا سيكون عشّاق الفنّ الفوتوغرافي أمام مشهد جديد واستثنائيّ من مشاهد الإمارة الثقافية والفنيّة يتعرفوا من خلاله على العالم بشكل مختلف”.
وتابع مدير المكتب الإعلامي لحكومة الشارقة:” فنّ التصوير أحد أشكال الفنون الرئيسية التي ميّزت القرن العشرين، ولولاه لما تعرّفنا على ما يدور من حولنا، ولم نصل إلى أعلى قمّة وأخفض بقعة في العالم، ولم نتعرف على تفاصيل الحكايات وخفاياها، فالعدسة عين كلّ فرد منّا، والنافذة التي تفتح أمامنا كلّ الأحداث التي تدور في هذا العالم، والصورة هي الرحلة الأكثر جمالاً وغرابة وحالة مكثّفة من الجمال المعرفة والثقافة”.{:}
