GE Partners with #GMIS2021 to Explore the Benefits of Digitization, Lean Production, and Safety to Global Manufacturing

DUBAI, UAE – GE (NYSE:GE) and the Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit (GMIS) have announced a partnership to explore the role of digitization, lean manufacturing, and workplace safety to support the transformation of manufacturing and economic regeneration both in the United Arab Emirates and globally.
Through joint thought leadership and knowledge sharing activities, GE will collaborate with the Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit to support manufacturers in deploying digitization, lean processes and safety protocols to improve efficiencies, eliminate waste, lower costs, increase productivity and uptime, and enhance employee satisfaction.
To be held at EXPO’s Dubai Exhibition Center from November 22-27, the fourth edition of the Summit (#GMIS2021) offers a unique international platform to share lessons and explore opportunities around these three crucial enablers, as leaders from the global manufacturing and technology communities engage in discussion and debate to shape the future of manufacturing and industrialization.

The summit is a joint initiative of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology. With the event coinciding with Dubai Expo, #GMIS2021 will position industrialization at the center of the global dialogue, reinforcing the sector’s important role in driving economic growth and global prosperity. The theme for #GMIS2021 is ‘Rewiring Societies: Repurposing Digitalisation for Prosperity’.
#GMIS2021 will explore the importance of data intelligence and connectivity, and the evolving mechanisms of interaction between humans and machines in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The Summit creates important opportunities to ensure digitization, lean manufacturing and workplace safety are integrated into the future of industrialization.

The lean methodology has been championed at GE by company Chairman and CEO Larry Culp, who has prioritized lean across the organization as a way to foster continuous process improvement. In manufacturing, the lean approach identifies systems and activities that do not add value for customers. By eliminating these unproductive elements and streamlining operations, manufacturing teams can reduce costs, improve quality, shrink turnaround times, and deliver better value.

The Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit (GMIS) was established in 2015 to build bridges between manufacturers, governments and NGOs, technologists, and investors in harnessing the Fourth Industrial Revolution’s (4IR) transformation of manufacturing to enable the regeneration of the global economy. أعلنت كل من جنرال إلكتريك (ورمزها في بورصة نيويورك: GE) والقمة العالمية للصناعة والتصنيع عن توقيع شراكة جديدة بينهما تهدف إلى تعزيز توظيف الرقمنة والإنتاج المستدام ومعايير السلامة في مكان العمل لدعم جهود تطوير القطاع الصناعي ودفع عجلة النمو الاقتصادي في الولايات المتحدة ودولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة وعلى المستوى العالمي.
وستتعاون جنرال إلكتريك مع القمة العالمية للصناعة والتصنيع في مجموعة من أنشطة القمة بما في ذلك الريادة الفكرية والتقارير والدراسات المتخصصة، وذلك بهدف دعم الشركات الصناعية في توظيف الرقمنة في أعمالها وتبني عمليات الإنتاج المستدام وبروتوكولات السلامة لتحسين الكفاءة، والقضاء على الهدر، وخفض التكاليف، ورفع مستوى الإنتاجية ووقت التشغيل، وتعزيز رضى الموظفين.
وتُعقد الدورة الرابعة من القمة العالمية للصناعة والتصنيع 2021 في مركز إكسبو دبي للمعارض في الفترة ما بين 22 وحتى 27 نوفمبر. وتوفر القمة منصة دولية فريدة لقادة القطاعين الصناعي والتكنولوجي لمناقشة مستقبل القطاع الصناعي العالمي ومستجدات القطاع التكنولوجي، إضافة إلى تبادل الخبرات والمعارف واستكشاف الفرص التي يوفرها القطاعين الصناعي والتكنولوجي.
وفي هذا الصدد، قال نبيل حبايب، النائب الأول للرئيس في “جنرال إلكتريك”: “يسعدنا أن نكون شركاء للقمة العالمية للصناعة والتصنيع ودعم الدور الكبير والهام الذي تلعبه القمة في تطوير القطاعين الصناعي والتكنولوجي ودفع عجلة التقدم الاقتصادي.”
وأضاف حبايب، الذي يشغل أيضًا منصب الرئيس والمدير التنفيذي في “جنرال إلكتريك العالمية”، التي تدير أكثر من 1000 منشأة للتصنيع والصيانة والإصلاح والعمرة في 130 دولة حول العالم: “ستشارك جنرال إلكتريك الخبرات والمعارف التي اكتسبتها من توظيف الرقمنة في أعمالها، وتبنيها لمفهوم الإنتاج المستدام، ومعايير السلامة المتطورة التي توظفها، بالإضافة إلى الأساليب التي نتبعها لدعم شركائنا وعملائنا في تبني الإنتاج المستدام في أعمالهم.”
وتقام الدورة الرابعة من القمة العالمية للصناعة والتصنيع، المبادرة المشتركة بين منظمة الأمم المتحدة للتنمية الصناعية (اليونيدو) ووزارة الصناعة والتكنولوجيا المتقدمة في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، تحت عنوان “الارتقاء بالمجتمعات: توظيف التقنيات الرقمية لتحقيق الازدهار”، والمستوحى من شعار إكسبو2020 “تواصل العقول وصنع المستقبل”. ويساهم انعقاد القمة العالمية للصناعة والتصنيع في إكسبو2020 دبي في تسليط الضوء على أهمية القطاع الصناعي والتكنولوجي في دعم النمو الاقتصادي وتحقيق الازدهار العالمي.
وتسلط القمة الضوء على الدور الذي تلعبه تقنيات الثورة الصناعية الرابعة في تعزيز التواصل بين القوى البشرية، وبين البشر والآلات، وبين الآلات بعضها البعض، والذي بدوره سيساهم في تعظيم إنتاجية القطاع الصناعي، وتحسين كفاءة الشركات والارتقاء بالمجتمعات. كما توفر القمة فرصًا مهمة لضمان تشجيع الشركات الصناعية على توظيف الرقمنة وتبني مبادئ الإنتاج المستدام وأعلى معايير السلامة في القطاع الصناعي.
ومن جانبه، قال بدر سليم سلطان العلماء، رئيس اللجنة التنظيمية للقمة العالمية للصناعة والتصنع: “يسعدنا أن نوطد شراكتنا مع جنرال إلكتريك، الشركة الصناعية الرائدة عالميًا والتي تلعب دورًا كبيرًا في تطوير وتنويع القطاع الصناعي. وستتعاون القمة العالمية للصناعة والتصنيع مع جنرال إلكتريك لتوظيف خبراتنا ومعارفنا وشبكة علاقاتنا لدفع الجهود الدولية الداعمة لتوظيف الرقمنة في الأعمال والعمليات، وتطوير القطاع الصناعي والتكنولوجي، وتعزيز الريادة الفكرية، والعمل على نشر هذه الخبرات والمعارف ليستفيد منها مجتمع الصناعة العالمي.”
وأضاف العلماء: “تساهم هذه الشراكة في إعادة صياغة مستقبل القطاع الصناعي العالمي خاصة مع توجه الشركات الصناعية في جميع أنحاء العالم نحو توظيف التقنيات المتقدمة مثل الذكاء الاصطناعي والروبوتات وإنترنت الأشياء وسلاسل الكتل للانتقال لمستويات الصناعة المتقدمة.”
وتستغل جنرال إلكتريك خبراتها ومعارفها في التحول الرقمي لمساعدة العملاء على ربط الآلات والمجسات داخل المصانع ضمن شبكة حوسبة سحابية آمنة، مما يمكنها من جمع البيانات وتحليلها لمساعدة القوى العاملة على تعزيز أعمالهم والحفاظ على استدامتها عبر سلسلة قيمة الإنتاج لزيادة الإنتاجية والكفاءة، وخفض التكاليف، وزيادة الربحية.
ويدعم لاري كالب، الرئيس والرئيس التنفيذي لشركة جنرال إلكتريك، منهجية الإنتاج المستدام على المستوى العالمي، حيث أعطى الأولوية لتطبيق المنهجية الجديدة عبر مختلف أقسام المؤسسة كطريقة لمواصلة عملية التطوير. وتعتمد منهجية الإنتاج المستدام على تحديد الأنظمة والأنشطة التي لا تضيف قيمة للعملاء. ومن خلال الحد من هذه الأنشطة غير المنتجة وتبسيط العمليات، حيث يمكن لفرق التصنيع تقليل التكاليف وتحسين الجودة وتقليص أوقات التسليم وتقديم قيمة أفضل للمستهلكين.
ويعتبر ضمان السلامة في مكان العمل، أحد أهم الأولويات لدى شركة جنرال إلكتريك. وقال حبايب: “تضع جنرال إلكتريك سلامة الكوادر البشرية على قمة أولوياتها”. وتقوم جنرال إلكتريك بتوظيف مجموعة من العمليات والإجراءات والتدريبات لضمان سلامة موظفيها، كما تقوم بجمع البيانات وتحليلها لتحقيق أعلى معدلات السلامة في أماكن العمل، بالإضافة إلى تبنيها للعديد من المعايير والأدوات الأخرى لضمان استمرارية عملية الإنتاج وتحسينها.
