CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah: Global Exhibitions Day is an occasion to highlight the important role of the exhibition industry in achieving sustainable economic development

HE Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah, has affirmed that the Global Exhibitions Day is an important occasion to highlight the important role played by the conference and exhibition industry in the economic life of many countries, where it helps increase national income and contribute to achieving sustainable economic development.

Al Midfa said that the centre’s celebration of this global occasion comes in line with its ongoing efforts to support and revive this sector. “Since last year, we have adopted a work strategy that keeps pace with the developments of the current circumstances, in addition to participating and organizing a large number of meetings and gatherings with decision-makers at the local and global level to come up with initiatives that would bring life back to the exhibition industry” he noted.

“This why Expo Centre Sharjah is a forerunner in organizing and hosting many exhibitions over the past year while placing the health and safety of everyone at the top of its priorities by taking the maximum preventive and precautionary measures to ensure the safety of exhibitors، employees and visitors,” Al Midfa added.

“Over the past years and thanks to the wise directives of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the centre has emerged as a leader in the exhibition industry at the regional and global levels and successfully attracted investors and businessmen working in various sectors,” the CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah stated,

He concluded his remarks saying: “We, at the centre, are keen on redoubling our efforts to provide the exhibition industry with innovative ideas and enhance its competitiveness and advancement to maintain Sharjah’s position as one of the most important cities that lead this industry in the region.”

أكد سعادة سيف محمد المدفع الرئيس التنفيذي لمركز إكسبو الشارقة أن اليوم العالمي للمعارض مناسبة مهمة لتسليط الضوء على أهمية قطاع المؤتمرات والمعارض في الحياة الاقتصادية للدول، وفي زيادة الدخل الوطني والمساهمة في تحقيق التنمية الاقتصادية المستدامة، مؤكداً أن مشاركة المركز دول العالم الاحتفال بهذه المناسبة يأتي استكمالاً للجهود التي يبذلها لدعم هذا القطاع وإعادة الانتعاش له، حيث سعى المركز خلال عام 2020 إلى اعتماد استراتيجية عمل مواكبة لتطورات الظروف الراهنة، إلى جانب المشاركة وتنظيم عدد كبير من الاجتماعات واللقاءات مع صناع القرار على المستوى المحلي والعالمي للخروج بمبادرات من شأنها إعادة الحياة إلى صناعة المعارض، وهذا ما جعل مركز إكسبو الشارقة سباقا في تنظيم واستضافة العديد من المعارض خلال العام الماضي، مع وضع صحة وسلامة الجميع على رأس أولوياته من خلال اتخاذ أقصى الإجراءات الوقائية والتدابير الاحترازية لضمان سلامة العارضين والموظفين والزوار.

وأشار المدفع إلى أن المركز استطاع على مدار السنوات السابقة بفضل التوجيهات السديدة لصاحب السمو الشيخ الدكتور سلطان بن محمد القاسمي عضو المجلس الأعلى حاكم الشارقة، من تحقيق الريادة في صناعة المعارض على مستوى المنطقة والعالم والنجاح في استقطاب المستثمرين ورجال الأعمال العاملين في مختلف القطاعات، مؤكداً حرص المركز على مواصلة جهوده الرامية إلى تطوير صناعة المعارض بأفكار مبتكرة وتعزيز تنافسيتها والنهوض المستمر بها لتحافظ الشارقة على مكانتها كواحدة من أهم المدن التي تقود هذه الصناعة في المنطقة.{:}
