GEMS Education students brush aside the challenges to record best-ever IBDP results in 62-year history
· GEMS IB schools in UAE once again outperform international averages
· Students achieve average pass rate of 99.5%, average point score of 36
· 10 students in top-performing 0.5% in the world with perfect score of 45
GEMS Education students studying the International Baccalaureate (IB) have recorded the best ever results in the group’s 62-year history, performing significantly above international averages. Their outstanding Diploma Programme (DP) results will see them accepted into top universities across the globe. Their achievement comes amid a backdrop of the ongoing pandemic, requiring students and educators to overcome a host of challenges and disruptions.
A total of nearly 600 GEMS Grade 12/Year 13 students sat the IB Diploma. The average point score was 36 this year, compared to the international average of 31.3 in 2020, with a pass rate of 99.5 per cent, significantly above the world average of 85.2 per cent.
Congratulating students on their achievement, Dino Varkey, CEO of GEMS Education, said: “Everyone at GEMS Education is genuinely elated with this year’s IBDP results, which are the best in our 62-year history. Our students and their teachers have now delivered two consecutive years of truly exceptional achievement in what is an incredibly difficult and challenging context due to the pandemic. Tammy Murphy, Superintendent/CEO of GEMS Dubai American Academy, and Chair of the Education Committee at GEMS, added: “We are so proud of all our IB students for their incredible results. These students showed determination and discipline when faced with an extremely difficult learning environment. No doubt, these achievements are directly correlated to their own hard work, and the unwavering support of teachers and parents over the past two years.”
A total of 10 students across the GEMS network achieved the highest point score possible of 45, including three from GEMS Wellington International School, two each from GEMS World Academy – Dubai, GEMS International School – Al Khail and GEMS Dubai American Academy, and one student from GEMS Modern Academy.
GEMS World Academy Dubai and GEMS Wellington International School also recorded spectacular average scores of 38 points, closely followed by GEMS Modern Academy with 37 points and GEMS International School – Al Khail with 36 points.
This year’s record-breaking results will once more allow GEMS students to attend some of the best universities in the world. These include University of Cambridge and Oxford University in the UK; Stanford University and Cornell University in the US; University of Toronto and University of British Columbia in Canada; University College Utrecht and Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands; University College Dublin in Ireland, and many more.

حقق طلاب البكالوريا الدولية في مجموعة جيمس للتعليم بدولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة نتائج استثنائية في اختبارات برنامج شهادة البكالوريا الدولية مسجلين هذه المرة أعلى نتائج في تاريخ المجموعة على مدار 62 عاماً، حيث تخطوا المعدلات العالمية، في خطوة تمكنهم من الالتحاق بأفضل الجامعات الدولية.
وعلى الرغم من استمرار التحديات التي فرضتها جائحة كوفيد-19 هذا العام، استطاع 597 طالباً في الصفين الثاني عشر والثالث عشر تحقيق متوسط درجات يبلغ 36 نقطة مقارنة بمتوسط المعدلات الدولية البالغ 31.3 نقطة في 2020. وبلغ متوسط معدل النجاح في سبع مدارس تابعة للمجموعة توفر برنامج شهادة البكالوريا الدولية في الإمارات 99.5%، والذي يتخطى بشكل كبير المتوسط العالمي البالغ 85.2%.
وعبر دينو فاركي، الرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة جيمس للتعليم، عن فرحته الغامرة للنتائج المذهلة التي سجلها الطلاب في سابقة من نوعها خلال 62 عاماً من تاريخنا، لافتاً إلى أنهم ومعلميهم حققوا إنجازات استثنائية خلال العامين الماضيين على الرغم من التحديات الكبيرة التي فرضتها جائحة كوفيد-19، أحسنتم ومبروك للجميع!
بدورها، هنأت تامي مورفي، رئيسة لجنة التعليم في مجموعة جيمس للتعليم ومديرة والرئيسة التنفيذية لأكاديمية جيمس دبي الأمريكية، الطلاب على إنجازاتهم قائلة: “أظهر طلابنا تصميماً وانضباطاً شديدين على الرغم من مسيرتهم التعليمية الشائكة خلال العامين الماضيين، ولا شك في أن هذه النتائج الرائعة هي وليدة عملهم الدؤوب والدعم غير المحدود الذي قدّمه المعلمون وأولياء الأمور، تهانينا للجميع”.
وجاءت نتائج الطلاب العشرة الذين حققوا العلامة الكاملة بـ45 نقطة كالتالي: ثلاثة طلاب من مدرسة جيمس ولينغتون انترناشيونال واثنان من أكاديمية جيمس العالمية واثنان من مدرسة جيمس الدولية شارع الخيل واثنان آخران من أكاديمية جيمس دبي الأمريكية وطالب من جيمس مودرن أكاديمي. كما حققت كل من مدرستي جيمس ولينغتون انترناشيونال وأكاديمية جيمس العالمية مدرسة متوسّط درجات مذهل يبلغ 38 نقطة، تليها جيمس مودرن أكاديمي بفارق بسيط بـ 37 نقطة، ومدرسة جيمس الدولية شارع الخيل التي حققت 36 نقطة.
وستتيح النتائج الاستثنائية التي حققها الطلاب الفرصة لهم للالتحاق بأفضل الجامعات في العالم، ضمنها جامعتا كامبريدج وأوكسفورد في المملكة المتحدة، وجامعتا ستانفورد وكورنيل في الولايات المتحدة، وجامعتا تورنتو وكولومبيا البريطانية في كندا، وكلية جامعة أوتريخت وجامعة إيراسموس روتردام في هولندا، وكلية دبلن الجامعية في أيرلندا، والعديد من الجامعات الممتازة الأخرى.
