THE EMERALD COLLECTION ANNOUNCES NEW OPENINGS IN 2022

The Emerald Collection, an Italian group with over 40 years of experience managing 5-star luxury properties in the Indian Ocean, Caribbean, and East Africa, confirms its expansion plans and announces the arrival of a new property in the Northeast area of Zanzibar, Tanzania, by June 2022.
Founded in 2013 and owned by the Scarapicchia family, The Emerald Collection brings authentic Italian flair to the market with their signature Deluxe All-Inclusive formula.
Across all room categories, the signature guest experience includes a variety of F&B experiences (including alcohol and minibar), high-speed Wi-Fi, access to all non-motorized water activities, a snorkeling excursion and a boat tour once per week. Guests will also be able to enjoy free access to the fitness center including a gym equipped with the latest Technogym machines, 2 tennis courts and 2 brand new padel courts.

The resort was the first in the Maldives to obtain GBAC STAR ™ (Global Biorisk Advisory Council, a division of ISSA – The Worldwide Cleaning Industry Association) certification for the protection of its guests and employees, and to proceed quickly with the vaccination of all 320 staff members. The opening of the new Emerald resort in Zanzibar is scheduled for June 2022. This is an entirely new project for the island and for East Africa, with all suites, a wellness center and congress area, a kids club, a diving center, and, of course, our Deluxe All-Inclusive stay formula.’
The new property will join the existing Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa, which opened in summer 2019 and was soon elected World’s Leading New Resort and Indian Ocean’s Leading New Resort at the 2020 World Travel Awards.
Part of The Leading Hotels of the World circuit, the 5-star Emerald Maldives was designed by the American architect Edward David Poole to blend in perfect harmony with the surrounding environment, using native materials such as bamboo, natural stones and Langhi Langhi leaves. The result is a skillful combination of tropical suggestions and contemporary design, capable of creating atmosphere of natural and informal elegance and guaranteeing guests the ideal setting in which to live new experiences and create indelible memories.
Developed on a 20-hectare property on Fasmendhoo Island in Raa Atoll, one of the largest private islands in the Maldives, surrounded by a natural coral reef, the resort makes sustainability its strong point using the energy produced by the solar panels positioned on the central part of the island, recirculation water for irrigation and an effective composting system that converts food waste into organic fertilizer for the gardens and the vegetable garden, from which ‘zero kilometer’ products are used in the 2 bars and the 4 restaurants. Resort also produces and bottles its own drinking water, The Emerald Water, directly on the island and has implemented a Coral Frame Planting project for the protection and regeneration of the coral reef surrounding the resort.
Guests have access to 60 beach villas ideal for families and 60 overwater villas to enjoy the warm and calm turquoise waters that surround the island, as well as The Emerald Spa and the Dolphin Kids Club for children aged 3 to 12 – the largest in all Maldives and widely regarded as one of the best in the entire archipelago.

تأسّست مجموعة The Emerald Collection عام 2013 على يد عائلة سكارابيتشيا وتقدّم تزاوجاً فريداً بين اللمسة الإيطالية الأصيلة و خطة الإقامة Deluxe All-Inclusive.

وسينضمّ المنتجع الجديد إلى منتجع وسبا Emerald المالديف الذي فتح أبوابه في صيف 2019 وبعد فترة وجيزة تمّ انتخابه المنتجع الجديد الرائد عالمياً والمنتجع الجديد الرائد في المحيط الهندي ضمن جوائز السفر العالمية لعام 2020.
يندرج منتجع Emerald المالديف المُصنّف من فئة الخمس نجوم ضمن مجموعة The Leading Hotels of the World وقد تمّ تصميمه على يد المهندس المعماري إدوارد دافيد بولي لينسجم تماماً مع البيئة المحيطة به، حيث تمّت الاستعانة بمواد محلية مثل الخيزران، والأحجار الطبيعية وأوراق لانغي لانغي. فكانت النتيجة تزاوجاً إبداعيّاً بين الأجواء الاستوائية والتصميم المعاصر، تلد من رحمه بيئة من الأناقة الطبيعية البعيدة عن التكلّف لينغمس الضيوف في ملاذ مثالي يضمن لهم تجارب غير مسبوقة وذكريات لا تُمحى.
يقع هذا المنتجع على عقار تبلغ مساحته 20 هكتاراً في جزيرة فاسمندو في را أتول التي تُعدّ واحدةً من أكبر الجزر الخاصة في جزر المالديف، وتحيط به شعاب مرجانية طبيعية. وهنا تجدر الإشارة إلى أنّ نقطة قوّته تكمن في الاستدامة حيث يستخدم طاقةً تولّدها الألواح الشمسية في الجزء المركزي من الجزيرة، ومياه معاد تدويرها للرّي ناهيك عن نظام فعّال للتسميد يحوّل بقايا الطعام إلى سماد عضوي للحدائق فضلاً عن حديقة الخضار التي منها تُستخدَم منتجات “صفر كيلومتر” في الاستراحتين والمطاعم الأربعة. كما أنّ المنتجع يتولّى إنتاج وتعبئة مياه الشرب الخاص به، The Emerald Water، مباشرةً في الجزيرة وقد قام بتطبيق مشروع زراعة الهيكل المرجاني لحماية وتجديد الشعاب المرجانية المحيطة بالمنتجع.
