Gulf Medical University Board of Trustees approves the strategic plan to double the intake of UAE Nationals and offer Emiratis full scholarship for PhD program

• Includes a full scholarship in Doctor of Philosophy in Precision Medicine in collaboration with Université Paris Saclay, France.
• Launches The Future Scientists of the UAE program to help Emirati students explore research-based career at close quarters

July 27th, 2021; Ajman, UAE: In order to double the representation of well-trained Emiratis in the UAE healthcare sector, Gulf Medical University (GMU), Ajman, has announced scholarships and discounts in all its 6 colleges and 28 accredited programs for Emirati students. The program also includes full scholarship in Doctor of Philosophy in Precision Medicine in collaboration with Université Paris Saclay in France.

The university has also introduced career guidance training programs for Emirati students to assist them in choosing careers in healthcare profession. Students are provided with vocational counselling on subjects including medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, biomedical sciences, healthcare management and economics, anaesthesia technology, medical laboratory sciences, physiotherapy, medical imaging sciences and healthcare management and economics.

Moreover, GMU has introduced a program to enable students to explore research-based career. The Future Scientists of the UAE program has been developed to give Emirati high school students access to tools that are usually only made available to college students or beyond. The aim of the program is to embed the students in the research environment. Eventually, the students will be placed in research labs to work on extensive research projects where they will interact with people and patients on one-on-one basis.

GMU also offers graduate programs in public health, physical therapy, endodontology, periodontics, clinical pharmacy, drug discovery development, healthcare management and economics, health professions education and medical laboratory sciences.

Gulf Medical University, Ajman, has fulfilled several dreams of Emirati students and the alumni of GMU has written several success stories by securing top career positions and serving the local community. The three specialized institutes namely, Thumbay Research Institute for Precision Medicine, Thumbay Institute of Population Health and Thumbay Institute of Healthcare Workforce Development are enabling graduates for lifelong learning and career enhancement in the healthcare industry.

{:}{:ar}اعتمد مجلس أمناء جامعة الخليج الطبية خطة الجامعة الاستراتيجية لمضاعفة أعداد مواطني دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة الدراسين بالجامعة وتقديم منح دراسية  لبرنامج الدكتوراة في الطب الدقيق وبرامج الدراسات بالكليات المختلفة الطبية والصحية.

يأتي ذلك في إطار دعم التوجهات الاستراتيجية لدولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة وتلبية الاحتياجات الحالية والمستقبلية لمهن الرعاية الصحية الإماراتية.

كما تقدم جامعة الخليج الطبية منحاً وخصومات في جميع كلياتها الست و 28 برنامجاَ معتمداً. ومنها منحة دراسية كاملة في برنامج الدكتوراة في الطب الدقيق بالتعاون مع جامعة باريس ساكلاي.

وتقدم جامعة الخليج الطبية برامج تدريبية لطلاب المدارس لتمكينهم  وتوجيههم لاختيار المهن الصحية مثل: الطب وطب الأسنان والصيدلة والتمريض والعلوم الطبية الحيوية وإدارة الرعاية الصحية وتكنولوجيا التخدير وعلوم المختبرات الطبية والعلاج الطبيعي، إضافة لعلوم التصوير وإدارة واقتصاد الرعاية الصحية.

وتقدم الجامعة برامج الدراسات العليا في الصحة العامة، والعلاج الطبيعي، وطب الأسنان، وطب اللثة، والصيدلة السريرية، وإدارة واقتصاد الرعاية الصحية، وتعليم المهن الصحية وعلوم المختبرات الطبية، وهي تخصصات مهمة تحتاج إلى زيادة أعداد المواطنين العاملين في هذه المجالات.

ومن البرامج المتميزة في جامعة الخليج الطبية برنامج “أبناء الإمارات علماء المستقبل” الذي يمكن المنتسبين من الحصول على مهنة قائمة على البحث. وقد تم تطوير البرنامج في الإمارات العربية المتحدة لمنح الطلاب الإماراتيين في المدارس الثانوية إمكانية الوصول إلى الأدوات التي عادة ما تكون متاحة فقط لطلاب الجامعات أو خارجها.

ويستثمر برنامج “أبناء الإمارات علماء المستقبل” في مواهب الشباب وقدراتهم وينمي شغفهم وإبداعهم، وينقلهم إلى بيئة خصبة تزودهم بمهارات البحث العلمي، من خلال خوض العديد من التجارب في مختبرات الأبحاث على مدار سنتين.

لقد حققت جامعة الخليج الطبية، أحلام الطلبة الإماراتيين، فكانت محطة مهمة في مسيرة نجاحهم، ووجهةً للطموحين والمبدعين، وأصبح سوق العمل شاهداً على ريادة خريجيها الذين تسلموا وظائف مهمة ووضعوا بصمتهم في خدمة مجتمع الإمارات في مختلف القطاعات.

ولأن صناعة المستقبل تتطلب التطوير الدائم والتعلّم المستمر، تعمل المعاهد المتخصصة في جامعة الخليج الطبية، وهي:  معهد ثومبي لأبحاث الطب الدقيق ومعهد ثومبي للصحة السكانية ومعهد ثومبي لتنمية القوى العاملة في الرعاية الصحية، على إتاحة الفرصة أمام الخريجين للتعلم مدى الحياة وتحسين فرصهم للحصول على وظائف المستقبل من خلال برامجها المتنوعة ورؤيتها المتطورة ومواكبتها لأحدث التخصصات الطبية العالمية.{:}
