Dubai Culture announces first week programme of ‘Our Summer is Culture & Creativity’
- An arts week full of rich virtual and physical workshops
- Mosaic, origami, thread painting, farming, recycling, cinema and much more
Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) announced the first week programme of its summer camp, taking place from 1 – 7 August under the theme ‘Our Summer is Culture & Creativity,’ inviting children and adolescents to participate in a wide range of innovative and purposeful activities that will expose them to arts, life skills and entertainment.
The activities of the programme’s first week, hosted by Hatta Public Library, will include physical art workshops in Arabic from 3 – 5 p.m., stimulating creativity for children aged 6 – 12 and encouraging them to recycle in different ways. The workshops will cover the art of making dolls easily from cloth and cups, expressive faces, and artistic water bottles, as well as a flower planting workshop that will introduce them to the basics of farming.
At Umm Suqeim Library, students aged 6 – 12 will enjoy physical art workshops in Arabic from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. throughout the week. The programme will include the ‘Preparation for Expo’ workshop, introducing children to the largest global event in the UAE, accompanied by artistic activities, in addition to innovative drawing workshop with new methods and tools, writing stories, forming paintings with threads, and learning about the art of caricature.
Al Mankhool Library has prepared for children aged 6 – 12 years a set of physical workshops in Arabic held daily from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., through which its activities will include planting seeds, reading various stories about agriculture and its importance, making and colouring different forms of clay, in addition to the ‘Little Chef’s’ workshop, which includes interesting competitions about vegetables and fruits; a doll making workshop; and a free-drawing workshop, through which children will learn the basics of using watercolors and forming their favorite painting; as well as making animal models using origami.
At Al Safa Art and Design Library, adults aged 18 and over will enjoy a physical workshop on 1 August on ‘The Art of Feng Shui’, during which participants will learn about the impact of place on an individual’s feelings, accompanied by a workshop on writing using positive energy vocabulary. On the other hand, children aged 6 – 12 years will participate in physical workshops on the art of recycling and its importance, the art of designing decorations, storytelling, and mental focus. All the workshops will be offered in Arabic and English from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Children at Al Twar Public Library will enjoy a set of physical workshops in Arabic held from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m., and from 3 – 4p.m. The workshops will feature a theatrical performance that will comprise the reading of a play and the acting of its characters to develop participants’ talents in theatrical performance. Also being offered are art workshops for making penguins out of paper, the colour wheel, making paper hats, reading stories and writing.
Al Rashidiya Public Library will also welcome children aged 6 – 12 with physical workshops in Arabic daily from 2 – 3 p.m., whose activities will vary between awareness of healthy eating, making rosaries using simple and easy tools, recycling and utilising the available materials to make various art forms for decoration. In addition to the reading of various books on the arts of handicrafts, making covers of various stories and books, and the steps of making candles using natural resources. In addition, children aged 9 and above can join a workshop on caricature drawing on 7 August from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
At Hor Al Anz Public Library, children aged 6 – 12 years will join a set of physical workshops in Arabic, daily from 2 – 4 p.m., during which they will learn the art of mosaics and enrich their knowledge about the UAE through a three-dimensional drawing of the UAE flag, in addition to workshops for telling stories and making modes of transportation (cars, buses and ships) using cardboard as well as forming different models using origami. On 4 August, the children will enjoy a physical and virtual workshop on International Cinema Day, during which the organisers will talk with the children about their choice of films, followed by the screening of ‘One Per Person,’ accompanied by a competition to draw their favorite movie characters.

أعلنت هيئة الثقافة والفنون في دبي “دبي للثقافة” عن برنامج الأسبوع الأول من مخيمها الصيفي 2021 تحت شعار “صيفنا ثقافة وإبداع” ويمتد من 1 حتى 7 أغسطس، داعية الأطفال والناشئة إلى المشاركة في طيف واسع من الأنشطة المبتكرة والهادفة التي ستأخذهم إلى فضاءات الفنون والمهارات الحياتية والمرح.
وتشمل فعاليات الأسبوع الأول من البرنامج الذي تستضيفه المكتبة العامة في حتا على ورش فنية واقعية باللغة العربية من 3:00 ظهراً حتى 5:00 مساءً، تحفّز خيال الأطفال من 6 إلى 12 عاماً على الابداع وتشجعهم على إعادة التدوير بطرق مختلفة، مثل ورش صناعة الدمى من القماش والأكواب بخطوات سهلة، إضافة إلى صناعة الوجوه المعبرة، وزجاجات الماء الفنية، وورشة زراعة الورود التي ستعرفهم إلى أساسيات الزراعة.
وفي مكتبة أم سقيم، سيستمتع الطلاب من 6 إلى 12 عاماً بورش فنية واقعية باللغة العربية تقام من 10:00 صباحاً حتى 12 ظهراً على مدار الأسبوع، حيث يتضمن البرنامج ورشة “الاستعداد لإكسبو” لتعريف الأطفال على الحدث العالمي الأكبر في الإمارات العربية المتحدة، يصاحبها أنشطة فنية، إضافة إلى ورش الرسم المبتكرة بأساليب وأدوات جديدة، وتأليف القصص، وتشكيل لوحات بالخيوط، والتعرف إلى فن الكاريكاتير.
أما مكتبة المنخول، فقد أعدت للأطفال من 6 إلى 12 عاماً ورش عمل واقعية باللغة العربية تقام يومياً من 11:00 صباحاً حتى 1:00 ظهراً، وتشمل أنشطتها زراعة البذور، وقراء القصص المتنوعة عن الزراعة وأهميتها، وصناعة أشكال مختلفة من الطين المنزلي وتلوينها، إضافة إلى ورشة الشيف الصغير التي تضم مسابقات مشوقة عن الخضار والفواكه، وورشة صناعة الدمى، وورشة رسم حر سيتعلم الأطفال من خلالها أساسيات استخدام الألوان المائية وتشكيل لوحتهم المفضلة، إلى جانب صناعة مجسمات حيوانات باستخدام فن الأوريغامي.
وفي مكتبة الصفا للفنون والتصميم، ينتظر الكبار من 18 وما فوق في 1 أغسطس 2021 ورشة واقعية عن “فن الفونغ شو” (الإنسان بين طاقة الزمان وطاقة المكان) يتعرف المشاركون خلالها إلى تأثير المكان على مشاعر الفرد، يصاحبها ورشة كتابة مفردات إيجابية عن الطاقة. أما الأطفال من 6 إلى 12 عاماً، فينتظرهم ورش عمل واقعية عن فنون إعادة التدوير وأهميته، وفن تصميم الزخارف وسرد القصص، والتركيز الذهني. وستكون جميع الورش باللغتين العربية والإنجليزية من 11 صباحاً حتى 12 ظهراً.
في حين سيستمتع الأطفال في مكتبة الطوار العامة بباقة من الورش الواقعية باللغة العربية التي تُعقد من 11 صباحاً إلى 12 ظهراً، ومن الثالثة إلى الرابعة بعد الظهر، وتشمل قراءة مسرحية وتمثيل شخصياتها لتنمية مواهبهم في الأداء المسرحي، وورشات فنية لصناعة بطاريق من الورق، وعجلة الألوان، وصناعة القبعات الورقية وقراءة القصص والكتابة.
كما تستقبل مكتبة الراشدية العامة الأطفال من 6 إلى 12 سنة بورش عمل واقعية باللغة العربية يومياً من 2:00 حتى 3:00 ظهراً، وتتنوع فيها الأنشطة ما بين التثقيف حول الأكل الصحي، وصناعة المسابيح باستخدام أدوات بسيطة وسهلة، وإعادة التدوير واستغلال المواد المتوفرة لعمل أشكال فنية مختلفة للزينة، علاوةً على قراءة كتب مختلفة عن فنون الأشغال اليدوية، وصناعة أغلفة القصص والكتب المتنوعة، وخطوات صناعة الشموع باستخدام موارد طبيعية لتشكيل شموع خاصة بهم. إلى جانب ورشة تعليم فن رسم الكاريكاتير للأطفال من 9 وما فوق في 7 أغسطس 2021 من الساعة 11 صباحاً حتى 1 ظهراً.
أما مكتبة هور العنز العامة فقد جهزت للأطفال من 6 إلى 12 عاماً باقة من الورش الواقعية باللغة العربية، يومياً من 2 ظهراً حتى 4 مساءً، يتعلمون خلالها فن الموزاييك، ويثرون معلوماتهم عن دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة عبر رسم ثلاثي الأبعاد لعلم دولة الإمارات، إضافة إلى ورش لسرد القصص وصناعة وسائل تنقّل (سيارات وحافلات وسفن) باستخدام الورق المقوى، وتشكيل مجسمات مختلفة باستخدام الأوريغامي. وفي 4 أغسطس، سيكون الأطفال على موعد مع ورشة واقعية وافتراضية حول يوم السينما العالمي، يتم خلالها التحدث مع الأطفال عن اختيارهم للأفلام، يليها عرض فيلم One Per Person، ويصاحبها مسابقة رسم شخصيات الأفلام المفضلة.{:}
