President Jair Bolsonaro leads
Brazil’s Expo 2020 National Day festivities
DUBAI, 15 November 2021 – Brazil presented an impressive line-up of cultural and entertainment activities to mark its Expo 2020 National Day during the visit by the country’s President Jair Bolsonaro. The Brazilian President and First Lady Michelle Bolsonaro were welcomed by His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence and Commissioner General of Expo 2020 Dubai.
President Jair Bolsonaro, said: “It is wonderful to be here to celebrate Brazil’s Expo 2020 National Day event – it offers an amazing opportunity for Brazil to showcase itself to the world. This Expo is an exciting place for the 192 participating nations to unveil their latest technologies and to do business.”
“We enjoy friendly relations with, and admire, the UAE very much. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, our collaborations have managed to ensure many successes and achievements in several fields. We aim to continue to strengthen our relations and work
together in various spheres, such as food security and technology.”
His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence and Commissioner General of Expo 2020 Dubai, said: “Brazil is known for various global achievements, particularly in mega-events – having hosted two World Cups – and for being the country with the most World Cup wins. It is also the founder of a much-loved sport in the UAE, the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. This is why, for Expo 2020, Brazil chose to highlight another unique side of its prominence, which is its unparalleled biodiversity, hence, its choice of ‘Together for Sustainable Development’ as its Expo theme.”
“Brazil’s pavilion within the Sustainability district brings to us a modern recreation of the Amazon basin, with all the sights, sounds and scents of the country’s riverside. With a rather unique architecture, the pavilion represents a stilt house, commonly found along the banks of the Amazon, and is built around a walkable water blade, evoking the waters of Brazil here in Dubai and offering an immersive experience and a unique journey through Brazil’s abundant opportunities. As such, Brazil’s participation addresses key topics of mutual interest, including biodiversity, agriculture, sustainable cities, the green economy, resource efficiency and more as a means to achieve future growth and development.”
Expo 2020 visitors were treated to live performances and traditional Brazilian food at Al Wasl Plaza, the Brazil Pavilion and at venues across the Expo site. The day included a World Record attempt for the largest jiu-jitsu lesson at Jubilee Park and 13 other locations across the UAE. President Bolsonaro also delivered a speech at a Business Forum in the morning while the First Lady attended an event at the Women’s Pavilion.
National and Honour Days at Expo 2020 Dubai are moments to celebrate each its 200-plus International Participants, shining a light on their culture and achievements and showcasing their pavilions and programming. Each features a flag-raising ceremony at the Stage of Nations in Al Wasl Plaza, followed by speeches and cultural performances
Running until 31 March 2022, Expo 2020 has invited visitors from across the planet to join the making of a new world in a six-month celebration of human creativity, innovation, progress and culture
{:}{:ar}رئيس البرازيل يحضر احتفالات بلاده باليوم الوطني في إكسبو 2020 دبي
دبي، 15 نوفمبر 2021 – قدمت البرازيل مجموعة مبهِرة من الأنشطة الثقافية والترفيهية للاحتفاء بيومها الوطني في إكسبو 2020 دبي، وذلك في إطار زيارة فخامة جايير بولسونارو، رئيس جمهورية البرازيل للحدث الدولي، حيث رحب معالي الشيخ نهيان بن مبارك آل نهيان، وزير التسامح والتعايش، المفوَّض العام لإكسبو 2020 دبي، بالرئيس البرازيلي وقرينته السيّدة الأولى ميشيل بولسونارو.
وقال فخامة الرئيس جايير بولسونارو: “هذا حدث رائع جدا؛ وأنا سعيد جدا بوجودي هنا في هذا الحدث الدولي، فهو فرصة لعدة بلدان لعرض الفرص الموجودة في كل بلد. والبرازيل بطبيعة الحال تقدم نفسها لكل العالم… هذه فرصة سانحة ومكان هائل لعرض هذه البلدان، لكي تُظهر التكنولوجيا وللقيام بالأعمال أيضا”.
وحول العلاقات بين البرازيل ودولة الإمارات، قال فخامته: “نحن طوّرنا العلاقات، خاصة في حكومتنا، خاصة أني معجب كثيرا بإخواني هنا في دولة الإمارات. ورغم جائحة كوفيد، فقد تمكّنا من تحقيق عدة نجاحات ومكتسبات في عدة ميادين. وحتى شعوبنا… شعبا البلدين بحاجة إلى المزيد من التقارب والتعارف بينهم، ولدينا عدة فرص وعدة مجالات يمكن أن نقوم بالتعاون فيها فيما بيننا، مثل الأمن الغذائي والتكنولوجيا”.
وقال معالي الشيخ نهيان بن مبارك آل نهيان: “تُعرف البرازيل بإنجازاتها العالمية المتنوعة، لاسيّما في استضافة الفعاليات الضخمة، إذ استضافت دورتين من كأس العالم لكرة القدم، وهي أكثر دولة حائزة على الكأس. وهي أيضا مؤسِسة لرياضة محبوبة للغاية في دولة الإمارات، وهي رياضة الجوجيتسو البرازيلية. ولذلك، اختارت البرازيل في إكسبو 2020 أن تسلط الضوء على جانب فريد آخر من ميزاتها، وهو تنوعها الحيوي الذي لا يضاهى، من خلال اختيارها لشعارها في إكسبو 2020 ’معا من أجل التنمية المستدامة‘”.
وأضاف: “يقدم إلينا جناح البرازيل في منطقة الاستدامة محاكاة حديثة عن حوض الأمازون، تشمل جميع المناظر والأصوات والروائح التي تزخر بها ضفاف هذا النهر في الدولة. وبفضل فن عمارة الجناح الفريد، يستحضر الجناح المياه البرازيلية هنا في دبي ويوفر تجربة غامرة ورحلة فريدة لاستكشاف الفرص الكثيرة التي تتيحها البرازيل. وبالتالي، تعالج مشاركة البرازيل قضايا رئيسة ذات اهتمام مشترك مع دولة الامارات، تشمل التنوع الحيوي، والزراعة، والمدن المستدامة، والاقتصاد الأخضر، وكفاءة استخدام الموارد، وغيرها، بصفتها وسيلة لتحقيق النمو والتنمية المستقبليين”.
وقد استمتع زوار إكسبو 2020 بعروض حية وأطعمة برازيلية تقليدية في ساحة الوصل، وجناح البرازيل، وأماكن مختلفة في أنحاء موقع إكسبو 2020. وتخللت اليوم محاولة لتسجيل رقم قياسي عالمي لأكبر درس للتدريب على رياضة جوجيتسو في حديقة اليوبيل و13 موقعا آخر في أنحاء دولة الإمارات. وألقى فخامة الرئيس بولسونارو خطابا في منتدى للأعمال في الصباح، فيما حضرت السيّدة الأولى فعالية في جناح المرأة في موقع إكسبو 2020 دبي.
وتمثل الأيام الوطنية والفخرية في إكسبو 2020 دبي مناسبات للاحتفال بكل من المشاركين الدوليين الذين يزيد عددهم على 200 مشارك، وتسليط الضوء على ثقافاتهم وإنجازاتهم وعرض أجنحتهم وبرامجهم. وتتميز كل منها بمراسم رفع العلم على منصة الأمم في ساحة الوصل، تليها عروض ثقافية وإلقاء كلمات.
تستمر فعاليات إكسبو 2020 دبي حتى 31 مارس 2022؛ ويدعو الحدث الدولي الزوار من جميع أنحاء كوكب الأرض إلى المشاركة في صنع عالم جديد في احتفال بإبداع البشر وابتكاراتهم وتقدمهم وثقافاتهم ممتد على مدار ستة شهور.{:}
