{:en}Doha, Qatar, (AETOSWire) : After the recent success of Stars of Science season 13, Stars of Science are once again offering ambitious Arab innovators and entrepreneurs the opportunity to be crowned ‘best Arab innovator’ by a jury of experienced scientists as applications open for Stars of Science season 14.
A unique platform for budding innovators, Stars of Science, Qatar Foundation’s edutainment show, enables applicants to showcase their skills and abilities to help inspire novel positive solutions to regional and global challenges across numerous sectors, like health, biomedicine, IT, sports, and engineering, among others.
Khalifa Essa Al Kubaisi, Media Relations Manager, Qatar Foudation said: “Stars of Science is helping rediscover the culture of innovation that the Arab world is known for since time immemorial. With a high percentage of young people, among whom exist many innovators capable of developing impactful solutions to address challenges of their societies, the region is witnessing a strong resurgence of this culture. Stars of Science provides the region’s innovators with a valuable opportunity and robust support to further develop their ideas that could go on to contribute to the advancement of their societies. Previous seasons of the program have revealed the capabilities of these young talents and what they can achieve when given the necessary support.”
For over a decade, the impact of Stars of Science has been felt through its significant contributions to a vibrant entrepreneurial culture among people in Arab countries, which is reflected by the successes achieved by its many alumni. So far, 154 innovators representing 19 Arab countries have instilled the values of collaboration and scientific excellence from their time on the show, offering a wide network for new participants to meet, learn from and share knowledge with.
Dr. Nuha Abu Yousef, a Jordanian physician and mother of two, shatters stereotypes and demonstrates that women can pursue both a career in science and have a family by giving birth during her time on the show while wining second place with her innovation the Active Lazy Eyelid Adhesive for Bell’s palsy patients. Qatari engineer Khalid Aboujassoum launched the invention he started on Stars of Science, ‘Oliver’, a fully-automated, smart cooking appliance with its own smartphone app, which will soon be available in global markets. Kuwaiti alumnus Sadeq Qasem established his own R&D company, ‘Prototec’. He manufactured ‘Dukhoon’ – an electronic incense burner – which has sold hundreds of thousands of units around the world and currently counts four products on the market with an additional two in the pipeline. He encouraged future Arab innovators to apply for the new season, saying: “Stars of Science is not just a TV show or a competition, it is a school. It is very important that you deal with the show as an educational opportunity, where your focus should not only be on winning; this is something that ends with the show. You should seize the educational experiences that will remain with you for life.”

بعد النجاح الذي أحرزه الموسم 13 من برنامج نجوم العلوم – برنامج تلفزيون الواقع الرائد من مؤسسة قطر، يتيح البرنامج مجددًا الفرصة للمبتكرين وروّاد الأعمال العرب الطموحين لتحويل أفكارهم المبتكرة إلى واقع والتنافس على نيل لقب أفضل مبتكر في العالم العربي، وذلك من خلال فتح باب التقدّم للمشاركة في الموسم 14 من نجوم العلوم.
يُفسح برنامج نجوم العلوم المجال أمام كافة المبتكرين ورواد الأعمال في العالم العربي للمساهمة في إحداث فارق إيجابي في المنطقة، من خلال تقديم حلول مبتكرة للتحديات التي تواجهها المنطقة والعالم بأسره في كافة المجالات – كالصحة، والطب الحيوي، والتكنولوجيا، والرياضة، والهندسة وغيرها.

على مدار أكثر من عقد من الزمان، نجح برنامج نجوم العلوم في ترسيخ ثقافة الابتكار وريادة الأعمال على مستوى المنطقة، إذ شارك في البرنامج خلال مواسمه السابقة أكثر من 154 مبتكراً يمثلون 19 دولة عربية مما يؤكد على الانتشار الواسع للبرنامج على امتداد المنطقة. ويمثل خريجو البرنامج قصص نجاحات وشبكة علاقات واسعة تسمح ببناء روابط تعاون مشتركة كنقل المعرفة بينهم وحتى إنشاء شركات سوياً.
تقدم قصة الدكتورة نهى أبو يوسف، وهي طبيبة أردنية وأم لطفلين، مثالاً على نجاح خريجي البرنامج في إحداث تغييرات إيجابية فعّالة إذ أدت مشاركتها في تغيير الصورة النمطية حول قدرة المرأة على الموازنة بين حياتها الأسرية وعملها في مجال العلوم، حيث استقبلت المشتركة مولوداً جديداً أثناء مشاركتها في برنامج الابتكارات الرائد من مؤسسة قطر. وفازت نهى بالمركز الثاني من الموسم الحادي عشر بفضل ابتكارها “لاصق مفعّل لجفن العين المغموشة”، لمرضى شلل العصب السابع.
كما نجح المهندس القطري خالد أبو جسوم، الفائز بالموسم الرابع، في إطلاق اختراعه جهاز “أوليفر” وهو روبوت طهي ذكي وآلي بالكامل يعمل بتطبيق خاص على الهاتف – والذي سيتوفر قريباً في الأسواق العالمية. خلال السنوات الماضية، قام خالد ببناء فريق يتكون من ٢٠ عضواً لتطوير “أوليفر”، وجمع الاستثمارات وقام بحملة طلبات مسبقة ناجحة للغاية وحاليًا يرتكز جهد الفريق على تصنيع “أوليفر” لايصال الطلبات للزبائن في أمريكا الشمالية في الربع الثالث من العام 2022.
أما صادق قاسم من الكويت، فبعد بضعة أعوام من فوزه بالموسم الثاني، وعمله في حقل الابتكار، أسس شركته “بروتوتك” المتخصصة في إجراء البحوث والتطوير. كما وقام بتصنيع المبخرة الإلكترونية “Dukhoon”، والتي بيع منها مئات الآلاف في مختلف أنحاء العالم، ولديه حاليًا4 منتجات في السوق ويعمل على تصنيع منتجين جديدين. وقد وجه صادق رسالة لمن يتطلعون إلى المشاركة في الموسم الجديد من نجوم العلوم، قائلاً: “نجوم العلوم ليس مجرد برنامج، إنه بمثابة كلية سوف تتعلم فيها كيف تطور المنتجات وسوف تغير طريقة تفكيرك في منتجاتك. من المهم للغاية أن يتعامل كل مشارك مع البرنامج كفرصة تعليمية، فلا يكن هدفك هو نيل الجوائز فحسب؛ فهذا أمر ينتهي بنهاية موسم البرنامج نفسه، وليكن هدفك هو اغتنام الفرص التعليمية التي ستبقى معك مدى الحياة.”

نبذة عن برنامج نجوم العلوم:
“نجوم العلوم” هو البرنامج الرائد في العالم العربي في مجال الابتكار، وإحدى مبادرات مؤسسة قطر للتربية والعلوم وتنمية المجتمع، في إطار تلفزيون الواقع التعليمي والترفيهي. يهدف إلى تمكين المبتكرين العرب من تطوير حلول تكنولوجية لمجتمعاتهم تعود بالنفع على صحة الناس، وأساليب حياتهم، وتساعدهم أيضًا في الحفاظ على البيئة.
