DUBAI, 12 December 2021 – Equatorial Guinea celebrated its National Day at Expo 2020 on Sunday, with His Excellency Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, Vice President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea in Charge of National Defence and State Security joining a flag-raising ceremony at Al Wasl Plaza, which was followed by a series of traditional dances combined with historic songs from different ethnic groups.
His Excellency Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue was welcomed by His Highness Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airlines and Group, and Chairman of the Expo 2020 Dubai Higher Committee, and Najeeb Mohammed Al-Ali Executive Director, Expo 2020 Dubai Commissioner General Office.
His Excellency Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, said: “Equatorial Guinea is a country of peace and stability where people from different ethnic groups and cultures live in harmony. But it is also a nation of opportunities; we have achieved important economic advances and we are now boosting development based on a diversified economy, which involves enhancing the infrastructure sector, fishing industry and tourism in an attractive and unbeatable programme for investors. Our pavilion reflects this reality and shows the best of Equatorial Guinea in these areas.”
Najeeb Mohammed Al-Ali, Executive Director, Expo 2020 Dubai Commissioner General Office, said: “Equatorial Guinea’s pavilion offers its visitors the chance to explore its unique treasures, from its lush and biodiverse landscape, to its marked economic and social transformation, which focuses on various industries, including infrastructure development, seaports, airports, as well as the future capital Oyala, and more.”
“Equatorial Guinea’s pavilion also promotes the potential of the tourism, mining and agriculture sectors to visitors and investors, and invites us to witness a purely African model of structural and sustainable development.”
Award-winning singer and multi-instrumentalist Nelida Karr performed later in Al Wasl dome with her contemporary take on traditional Equatorial Guinean rhythms.
Equatorial Guinea’s brightly coloured pavilion wall captures the nation’s culture and history. Located in Sustainability District, the pavilion showcases Oyala, the City of Peace, and how it plans to become the developmental hub of the African continent. It also invites visitors to see the country’s sustainable future, with the freedom and mobility of independence, plus its incredible biodiversity.
The Central African country comprises the Rio Muni mainland and five volcanic offshore islands. The capital Malabo, situated on Bioko Island, has Spanish colonial architecture and is a hub for the country’s prosperous oil industry. Its Arena Blanca beach draws dry-season butterflies. The tropical forest of the mainland’s Monte Alen National Park is home to gorillas, chimpanzees and elephants.
National and Honour Days at Expo 2020 Dubai are moments to celebrate each of our 200-plus International Participants, shining a light on their culture and achievements and showcasing their pavilions and programming.
Running until 31 March 2022, Expo 2020 has invited visitors from across the planet to join the making of a new world in a six-month celebration of human creativity, innovation, progress and culture.
{:}{:ar}دبي، 12 ديسمبر 2021:احتفلت جمهورية غينيا الاستوائية، بيومها الوطني في إكسبو 2020 دبي، حيث بدأ الاحتفال برفع علمي دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة وجمهورية غينيا الاستوائية على منصة الأمم في ساحة الوصل، القلب النابض لإكسبو 2020 دبي، ومن ثم تم عزف النشيد الوطني للدولتين.
حضر مراسم الاحتفال الذي أقيم في ساحة الوصل، وفد يترأسه معالي تيودورو نغويما أوبيانغ مانغي، نائب رئيس جمهورية غينيا الاستوائية المسؤول عن الدفاع الوطني وأمن الدولة، وسمو الشيخ أحمد بن سعيد آل مكتوم، رئيس هيئة دبي للطيران المدني، الرئيس الأعلى الرئيس التنفيذي لطيران الإمارات والمجموعة، رئيس اللجنة العليا لإكسبو 2020 دبي، وعدد من كبار المسؤولين وأعضاء السلك الدبلوماسي وأبناء جالية غينيا الاستوائية في الدولة.
قال معالي تيودورو نغويما أوبيانغ مانغي في كلمته التي ألقاها بالمناسبة: “إن غينيا الاستوائية هي بلد سلام واستقرار حيث يعيش الناس من مختلف المجموعات العرقية والثقافات في وئام ومحبة و ترابط، لقد حققنا تقدمًا اقتصاديًا مهمًا ونعمل الآن على تعزيز التنمية القائمة على اقتصاد متنوع، يتضمن تعزيز قطاعات البنية التحتية وصناعة صيد الأسماك والسياحة في برنامج جذاب ومهم للمستثمرين”.
وقال نجيب محمد العلي، المدير التنفيذي لمكتب المفوض العام إكسبو 2020 دبي: “يقدم جناح غينيا الاستوائية لزوّاره تجربة فريدة، بدءاً من استكشاف المناظر الطبيعية والمتنوعة، وصولا للتعرف إلى التحول الاقتصادي والاجتماعي الذي تقوده البلاد، مع التركيز على تطوير البنية التحتية، بما فيها الموانئ البحرية، والمطارات، والعاصمة المستقبلية أويالا، وغيرها، ويعمل جناح غينيا الاستوائية أيضا على ترويج إمكانات القطاعات السياحة والتعدين والزراعة أمام الزوار والمستثمرين، ويدعونا الجناح لمشاهدة نموذج أفريقي خالص للتنمية الهيكلية والمستدامة.”
واختتمت مراسم الاحتفال باليوم الوطني لجمهورية غينيا الاستوائية بتقديم لوحات استعراضية فنية تراثية وفلكورية وغنائية، تعكس في مجملها الإرث الثقافي وعادات وتقاليد السكان.
يقع جناح غينيا الاستوائية في جناح الاستدامة، ويعمل على رسم صورة لمستقبل البلاد المستدام من خلال بناء مدينة أويالا، التي من المتوقع أن تصبح مركز القارة الأفريقية للتنمية، ويقدم الجناح الدعوة لزوار الحدث الدولي لاسكتشاف تاريخ هذا البلد المذهل وثقافته وتفكيره المبتكر والتعرّف إليه، وذلك عبر مجموعة جميلة من اللوحات الجدارية ذات الألوان الزاهية التي تزين الجناح، عاكسة ثقافة شعب هذه الأرض وروحه، وسعيه نحو ضمان صيانة التنوع الحيوي المذهل الذي تتمتع به أراضيه.
تعتبر الأيام الوطنية والأيام الفخرية في إكسبو 2020 دبي أوقاتاً مهمة للاحتفال بجميع المشاركين الدوليين الذين يزيد عددهم عن 200 مشارك، حيث تسلَّط الضوء على ثقافاتهم، وإنجازاتهم، وتُعرَض خلالها ملامح بارزة من أجنحتهم وبرامجهم.
ويُقام إكسبو 2020 دبي حتى 31 مارس 2022، وهو يدعو الزوار من جميع أنحاء العالم لصنع عالم جديد، في احتفالية استثنائية بالإبداع البشري، والابتكار، والتقدم، والثقافة تمتد ستة أشهر.{:}
