DUBAI, 29 December – Georgia celebrated its National Day at Expo 2020 Dubai on Wednesday (29 December) with an impressive line-up of cultural and entertainment activities, featuring everything from ballet to singing, taking place throughout the day at various venues across the site.
His Excellency Levan Davitashvili, Vice Prime Minister of Georgia and Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, accompanied by Irakli Nadareishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, were welcomed by His Excellency Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh, UAE Minister of State.
His Excellency Al Sayegh said: “Uniquely positioned at the crossroads between east and west… with a distinct and unique identity, Georgia’s participation at Expo 2020 emphasises not just the mobility of culture but also the opportunities that the country presents as a regional hub for trade and logistics.
“The UAE and Georgia share a longstanding friendship and partnership, one that has grown at various levels since the establishment of diplomatic relations between our two countries in 1992. Through Expo 2020 and beyond, we are keen on expanding the horizons of our already thriving relationship, by exploring enhanced collaboration between our countries in fields of mutual interest, such as trade, tourism, logistics and renewable energy.”
His Excellency Davitashvili said: “In the post-pandemic era, with the widespread supply chain disruptions, Georgia offers new opportunities for greater engagement and integration, which will unlock the full potential of the vibrant trade ties… With our ambitious foreign policy strategy that envisions Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration, our economy binds together both regions through a unique network of free trade agreements stretching from Europe to Asia.”
As part of the National Day celebration, guests were treated to performances by the Georgian National Ballet Sukhishvili & State Ensemble of Georgian Folk Song Basiani, as well as the Gori Women’s Choir.
A manifestation of ancient culture and heritage, the Georgia Pavilion invites visitors to see the crossroads of the future. The pavilion focuses on traditional winemaking, the Georgian alphabet, sustainable tourism, and various business opportunities that stem from Georgian culture and heritage. A bridge between Europe and Asia, the country is young, forward-looking, and home to multiple investment opportunities, many of which are explained at its pavilion.
National and Honour Days at Expo 2020 Dubai are moments to celebrate each of our 200-plus International Participants, shining a light on their culture and achievements, and showcasing their pavilions and programming.
Running until 31 March 2022, Expo 2020 has invited visitors from across the planet to join the making of a new world in a six-month celebration of human creativity, innovation, progress and culture.
{:}{:ar}دبي، 29 ديسمبر 2021 – احتفلت جورجيا بيومها الوطني في إكسبو 2020 دبي، اليوم، عبر تقديم مجموعة مميزة من الأنشطة الثقافية والفنية، والترفيهية، من بينها عرض لجوقة جوري النسائية، ولوحات فنية من الرقص التقليدي، إلى جانب إقامة المراسم الرسمية الخاصة بهذه المناسبة.
وحضر اليوم الوطني معالي ليفان دافيتاشفيلي، نائب رئيس الوزراء، ووزير حماية البيئة والزراعة في جورجيا، حيث استقبله معالي أحمد بن علي الصايغ، وزير دولة. فيما أقيمت مراسم رفع علمَي دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة ودولة جورجيا في ساحة الوصل.
وقال معالي أحمد بن علي الصايغ: “كونها دولة تتمتع بموقع استراتيجي على مفترق الطرق بين الشرق والغرب، مع هوية متميزة ومنفردة، تسلط جورجيا الضوء من خلال مشاركتها في إكسبو 2020 دبي على الحركة الثقافية لديها، و على الفرص التي تقدمها كمركز إقليمي للتجارة والخدمات اللوجستية”.
وأضاف: “تربط دولة الإمارات وجورجيا علاقة قوية مبنية على الصداقة والشراكة.. علاقة نمت على مستويات مختلفة منذ تأسيس الجسور الدبلوماسية بين دولتينا في عام 1992. ومن خلال إكسبو 2020 وما بعده، نحرص على توسيع آفاق علاقتنا الوطيدة، عبر استكشاف أوجه تعزيز التعاون بين بلدينا في المجالات ذات الاهتمام المشترك، على غرار التجارة، والسياحة، والخدمات اللوجستية، والطاقة المتجددة”.
وقال معالي ليفان دافيتاشفيلي، نائب رئيس الوزراء الجورجي: “في حقبة ما بعد الجائحة وما رافقها من اضطرابات واسعة في سلسلة التوريد، تقدم جورجيا فرصا جديدة بُغية تحقيق المزيد من المشاركة والتكامل، ما يفتح الإمكانات الكاملة للعلاقات التجارية النابضة بالحياة. عبر استراتيجيتنا الخارجية الطموحة التي تتطلع نحو تحقيق التكامل بين جورجيا وبين المنطقة الأوروبية الأطلسية، يربط اقتصادنا المنطقتين معا من خلال شبكة فريدة من الاتفاقيات التجارية الحرة التي تمتد من قارة أوروبا وصولا إلى قارة آسيا”.
وفي إطار الاحتفال باليوم الوطني، حظي الضيوف بفرصة الاستمتاع بمشاهدة الأداء الفني الذي أُقيم في ساحة الوصل والذي قدمته “جوقة جوري النسائية” إلى جانب فرقة جورجيا للفلكلور الجورجي وفرقة الباليه الوطني الجورجي.
وتجسيدا للثقافة والتراث العريقين، يدعو جناح جورجيا الزوار لرؤية مُلتقى الطرق في المستقبل. يركز الجناح على صناعة العصائر التقليدية، والأبجدية الجورجية، والسياحة المستدامة، والعديد من الفرص التجارية، التي تنبع من ثقافة جورجيا، وتراثها. تعد الدولة بمثابة جسر يربط بين قارتي أوروبا وآسيا، وهي دولة شابة ومتطلعة للمستقبل، وموطن لفرص استثمارية متعددة، يشرح الجناح العديد منها.
وتمثل الأيام الوطنية والفخرية في إكسبو 2020 دبي، مناسبات للاحتفال بكل من المشاركين الدوليين الذين يزيد عددهم على 200 مشارك، لتسليط الضوء على ثقافاتهم وإنجازاتهم واستعراض أجنحتهم وبرامج فعالياتهم.
وتستمر فعاليات إكسبو 2020 دبي، حتى 31 مارس 2022، ويدعو الحدث الدولي الزوار من جميع أنحاء كوكب الأرض إلى أن نصنع معاً عالماً جديداً في احتفال بإبداع البشر وابتكاراتهم وتقدمهم وثقافاتهم على مدار ستة أشهر.{:}
