Dr. Tarifa Alzaabi, Director General of the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA), said Emirati women today have a growing presence and influence internationally through their knowledge, expertise and leadership, guided by values deeply rooted in the UAE such as tolerance, compassion, cooperation and resilience. These qualities reflect the UAE’s character and its commitment to contributing positively to humanity.
Dr. Alzaabi said: “The position Emirati women hold today is the result of a national vision that believed in their potential and created opportunities for them to participate and lead, supported by the continued efforts of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, ‘Mother of the Nation’, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation. Emirati women now carry that confidence into the international arena, building partnerships, sharing knowledge, supporting communities and contributing to a better future for humanity.”
She added: “At ICBA, we see this impact through our international work in research, innovation and capacity development, and through partnerships with institutions and communities in different parts of the world to address food and water security and climate change. The contribution of Emirati women in this field reflects a model of leadership that brings together knowledge and responsibility, ambition and a genuine commitment to serving people and communities.”
Dr. Alzaabi continued: “This year’s theme, ‘We Emerge Stronger and Better,’ reflects the spirit of Emirati women as they continue to build on achievement and extend their impact with confidence and purpose. Wherever they contribute, they carry with them a strong national identity and human values grounded in tolerance, support for others, cooperation and resilience. These values give their achievements a meaning that reaches far beyond borders
