City Centre Deira Celebrates Philippine Independence Day with Flag-Raising Ceremony and Balikbayan Box Offer

Flag-Raising Ceremony – 11 June

The celebrations will begin on 11 June at 2:00 PM with a spectacular flag-raising ceremony led by the Philippine Ambassador to the UAE, Alfonso Ferdinand Ver. The ceremony will be accompanied by vibrant live marching band performances, bringing the spirit of the Philippines to life in Dubai all while gathering shoppers and the Pinoy community for a memorable tribute to Filipino heritage.

Balikbayan Box Station – 12 to 13 June

City Centre Deira is enabling customers to send love home this Philippine Independence Day through a Balikbayan Box Station from 13 to 14 June.

Inspired by one of the Philippines’ most cherished traditions, a Balikbayan Box is a care package filled with gifts and treats sent by Filipinos living abroad to their loved ones back home.

Shoppers who spend AED 200 or more (excluding Carrefour purchases) will be eligible to receive up to 50% off SEA Cargo shipments to the Philippines through PINAS Cargo. The limited time offer is available to the first 500 customers and applies to medium, jumbo and super jumbo box sizes with vouchers remaining valid for 60 months from the date of issuance.
